Zoe grinned. Straightening, she arched her back and scraped her nails gently down his chest. “Pleasure?”

“Loved,” he promised.

Epilogue

JOSIE SAUNTERED into Dressed to Thrill after lunch and almost tripped over the delivery boxes piled next to the counter. Rubbing her ankle, she tried not to pout. Oh, not over the fact that Carol had left them there for her to put away. That was normal. But this meant that Tom had already been by. Again. While she was gone. This made the fourth time this week.

She kicked at one of the thick cardboard crates. Was he avoiding her? He knew when her lunch was. She’d told him when she’d been hinting around, hoping he’d ask her to eat with him. So what? Now he was delivering when he knew she wasn’t going to be around?“Josie, can you log those returns in?” Carol said as she strode through the front of the shop.

“Sure,” Josie said without enthusiasm.

“I sure hope our regular delivery guy is back soon,” Carol said as she frowned at the stack of boxes over her bifocals. “He’s nice enough to take the delivery to the storeroom for me. This temp driver refused, if you can believe it.”

“Tom didn’t deliver these?” Josie’s heart picked up a beat. Maybe he wasn’t avoiding her?

“Tom? That’s our regular guy? No, he’s apparently training someone on a different route the past week or so.”

Her heart reassured, Josie smiled and scooped up as many boxes as she could carry. She hummed a happy tune as she got to work.

A half hour and a much happier Josie later, she opened the last returned costume and glanced at the manifest. It was supposed to be Betty Boop. She pulled out the leather dominatrix getup and groaned, her happy tune fading away. What had happened? Then she remembered the mix-up. She’d been so flustered thinking that Tom might be flirting with her, she’d sent the wrong costume. Carol was going to chew her out.

She grimaced and let the leather drop back into the box. She knew she should be worried, but it was hard to care. Tom had actually flirted with her, thanks to this costume.

She spied an envelope and frowned. The order had been paid for by credit card, so what was this?

She glanced over her shoulder to make sure Carol wasn’t around, then flicked open the envelope.
