I thrust my tongue into her mouth, kissing her deeper than I had a few seconds ago. I couldn’t hold back. I’d imagined how this would feel so damn many times. Now that I had a taste, I needed more. I needed it all. Everything from this woman. I ground my steel-hard cock against her heat.

“Damn, Stella, you taste so good.”

“So do you,” she murmured before I fused my mouth back with hers. I spun around and sat down on the bed with her on my lap. “Straighten your legs out, darlin’.”

When she did, I lifted her perfect ass and put her pussy exactly where I wanted it.

“You feel me, how hard I am for you, Stella?” I whispered.

“I feel you, Buck,” she whispered back.

“That’s your first clue that I’m not playin’ you.”

She tried to tuck her head in my neck, but I wouldn’t let her.

“Buck, they’re waiting for us.”

I’d give anything to make the two men sitting on the other side of the wall disappear. “I need one more taste of those sweet lips first, Stella.”

She gave me a quick kiss, shifted her body off my lap, and rushed into the bathroom. I flopped back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. What had I been thinking, starting something between us when Deck and Irish were sitting at the kitchen table?

I eased the door open, praying against hope they’d left. They hadn’t.

“Where’s Stella?” Deck asked.

“She’ll be out in a minute.”

“We’re gonna need her.”

“If I go back in there—”

Deck held up his hand. “That was the last thing I was suggesting. Believe me.”

When Stella came out, I pulled out a chair for her then sat beside her.

“I spoke with Burns,” said Decker. “He said he’s heard rumors about Operation Argead but never had a reason to look into it. Which means he didn’t burn it. He has theories about who did, though, and has promised to se

e what he can find out. For now, there’s no reason for me to go to California.”

“Copy that.”

“There’s more.”

“What?” I asked.

“Settle down, young Buck. I’m getting to it.”

“You do know that you’re only a couple of years older than I am, right?”

“In age maybe, but infinitely older in wisdom.”

I smiled and shook my head.

“He thinks it would be best if we kept this thing as far away from the Invincibles as possible. Mainly to keep the heat off Irish and Stella. Cope and Ali too.”

“What did he suggest?” Irish asked.

“To pull K19 in.”
