“We’re sorry for your loss,” Dickerson said compassionately. “Can you tell us how and when he died?” he asked.

“You people killed my Derek.”

“Excuse me?” Bautista questioned.

“That’s right. You people killed my Derek forty-three years ago this March.” The confused Detectives looked at one another for a second or two. “You’re probably looking for that no good grandson of mine. I told that boy about using this address for that foolishness he’s doing.”

“We’re sorry to have bothered you,” Bautista said.

“You wouldn’t happen to know where we can find your grandson?” Dickerson asked as Bautista walked away.

“I haven’t seen him, and I don’t want to,” she said and shut the door.

Dickerson rushed to catch up with Bautista. “I know what you’re thinking. If Mobley doesn’t live here—”

Bautista stopped and faced her partner. “Then those aren’t his men laying dead in the street.”

“This is not good,” Dickerson said. “Not good at all.”

Chapter Four

Carter Garrison sat alone at Cuisine having dinner, before he went to take care of some long overdue business. Mileena had broken up with him and Carter … he was really fucked up about it. There were two things that everybody knew about Carter Garrison. One was that he hit hard; like a fucking freight train, and two was that he loved Mileena. In its own way, each defined him.

The passion and the pain.

Without Mileena, all that remained was the pain.

“Don’t expect me to be here when you get back!” was what Mileena promised him on the day that Rain went missing, and he finally told Mileena that Rain had made him her consigliere. Once Rain called him from the airport and he was sure that she was safe, Carter went straight to J.R.'s and literally dragged Mileena out of the club. Carter said nothing on the way to the condo and when they got there, it wasn’t long before Mileena was naked and her ass was in the air. Carter smacked that ass a couple of times and then separated her thighs and Mileena was guiding his hot hard dick inside her.

His deep, hard, swift pumps had her bouncing back to him as he pounded away at her, his unrelenting and prolonged pace had her tightening and releasing around him and she loved it. She always did, but it was never going to be enough for her, and she knew it.

Carter saw the tears rolling down her cheeks, but he didn’t slow down. The way she came, shuddering and shouting his name until every muscle in his body locked up and he groaned out her name. But when Carter woke up the next morning, Mileena was gone. For the next month, Carter was at J.R.'s every night, looking for, but not finding Mileena. And when he finally did catch up with her, he’d make promises to her that they both knew he couldn’t keep and beg her to come back to him.

It was sad to watch, but watch was exactly what Fantasy did. She watched, and she waited. With Jada’s focus being on reorganizing her New York operation, she had little time for Fantasy.

Since Jada wasn’t going back to Nassau, that meant Fantasy could stay in the city and she planned to use that time wisely. She would have Carter Garrison, and that’s all there was to it.

But with Mileena taking herself out of the game, Fantasy wasn’t the only one that was ready and willing to open their thighs for Carter. After Mileena left him the first time and before he went to jail, he had gotten involved with Perry’s wife, Glenda. She showed up at Roman’s Pizza one afternoon looking sexy and soon found herself bent over the desk in Carter’s office.

The sound of him sliding in and out of her pulling her body into his, her stiff nipples bouncing agai

nst the mahogany desk made her river flow. Glenda twisting her hips, and Carter rubbing her thighs and her ass while pounding that dick in her made Glenda a regular afternoon visitor at Roman’s.

One night, Fantasy was at J.R.'s and her milk chocolate skin looked inviting in the Bocilla leather dress that gently caressed her soft curves. Her feet were adorned with crystal suede Jimmy Choo point toe pumps and she carried a trinket coarse Jimmy Choo glitter clutch. Around her neck Fantasy wore a whirl diamond and 18k yellow gold necklace, with a matching bracelet around her wrist and a Moderne Pave diamond and18K yellow gold Penta ring on her finger; all by Carelle that Jada brought back for her from Paris. She paid more than thirty thousand dollars for the set, but Jada thought it would look nice against Fantasy’s skin.

She had posted up at the bar, surrounded by her usual group of admirers and watching Carter walking beside Mileena begging her to come back to him. But Carter stopped talking and walking when he saw Fantasy.

Mileena looked at Carter and then she looked to see what had captured his attention.

That bitch.

“Why don’t you go fuck yourself and that bitch,” Mileena said and pointed at Fantasy. “Since that’s who you really want anyway.” She looked at the way he was still looking at her. “You probably already have,” Mileena said and walked away.

Carter stood there, watching Mileena walk away and the feeling that he had lost her for good washed over him. Fantasy watched Carter’s eyes change from desperation, to hurt and then to anger. She looked away just before he looked back at her.

Carter looked at Fantasy, stared at her, the way she looked in the leather dress. Jada was right, that 18k yellow gold jewelry did look amazing against her skin. If he had to be honest with himself, and this was as good a time as any, Carter would have to admit that he’d wanted to fuck Fantasy since the night they met at La Chatte.

Fantasy could feel his eyes on her, and instinctively knew that it was time to glance his way.
