“Thank you, Ms. Washington,” she said as she fixed her dress and rushed past Jackie and Baby Chris.

“Don’t bother pulling your pants up,” Jackie said. She waved one of her guns toward the door. “Walk.”

As best he could with his hands in the air and his pants around his ankles, Flip made it out of the office. Jackie and Baby Chris followed him out. When they got out there, all of the gamblers were gone and all that remained were his men and Simone’s ladies. They all got a good laugh at the sight of Flip as he inched his way along.

Jackie stepped in front of Flip and put her gun in his face.

“Do these women belong to you?”

“No.”

Jackie pressed the barrel of her other gun against Flip’s dick. “Who do they belong to?”

“Simone! They belong to Simone!”

Jackie turned to the ladies. “You can go now.”

“Thank you, Ms. Washington,” they all said just about in unison and hurried to leave.

“What happened to the women that were working here?”

“They quit.”

“So you stole Simone’s,” Baby Chris said and dropped his head laughing to himself.

“Why am I here?”

“’Cause I fucked up,” Flip said quietly.

“And I am tired of niggas fuckin’ up,” Jackie said and shot Flip in the head.

When his naked body dropped to the ground with a thud, Jackie stood over him and put two more in his chest.

“You mutha fuckas gonna get tired of fuckin’ up in my house,” she said and turned to leave thinking. As of right now, there is no more game.

When Jackie and Baby Chris returned to Conversations, the first thing they saw were all of the police and emergency vehicles that were outside the club. As they got closer, Jackie could see the damage to the front of the building.

“Pull over and park,” Jackie said and once he found a space, they walked to Conversations.

“What happened?” Baby Chris asked one of Jackie’s men as she walked inside. He told Baby Chris what happened, and also that four civilians were dead and fourteen more had to be taken to the hospital.

“And that’s not all.”

“What else?” Baby Chris asked.

“Rain Robinson got hit outside of J.R.’s last night.”

“Is she alive?”

“I don’t know.”

Chapter Nine

Rain sat up in bed. “Somebody needs to tell me what the fuck is going on!” she shouted when she heard about what happened at Conversations, but it hurt. Rain had taken seven shots and had only been awake for a while when she got the news, and it did nothing but make her madder than she already was.

“You need to try and relax,” Yarissa said, and tried to ease her back down on the bed.

“I know, but I need to find out what’s going on.”
