With a growl, Killian moved his face closer but never took her lips. "Don't feel pressured to say it back. I know I'm probably only going to be more trouble in the future. But in case something happens to me, I wanted to ensure you knew what I felt because you mean everything to me."
At the vulnerability in his eyes, she decided that she needed to make him understand she wasn't placating him for the sake of it. She loved Killian O'Shea and couldn't imagine her life without him.
Taking his chin between her fingers, Brenna leaned up a fraction. "I'm not saying it because of pressure, you fool. And nothing is going to happen to you, if I can help it. You're my male and I expect for us to have a long, eventful future ahead of us."
Not wanting to give Killian a chance to make up more excuses, she kissed him.
