A white tablecloth hangs over it and I can’t help the grin that stretches over my face as King reaches into the back and grabs a white chef’s coat and pulls it on. Hell, he even goes as far as adding one of those tall chef’s hats to complete his look.

King winks, making butterflies swarm through my stomach before glancing at the guys, double-checking that everyone knows where they need to be and when, then not a second later, he nods. “Wish me luck, boys,” he mutters before grabbing hold of the cart and striding away, whistling as though he has all the time in the world as he pushes his cart through the parking garage toward the back restaurant entrances. He looks perfect for the role he needs to play and will effortlessly roam over the whole building without a single person glancing his way twice.

Carver grabs my big coat and hands it to me as Grayson pulls a tired suit jacket over his shirt. My arms slip into a soft material, and before I know it, the clothes I wear beneath are completely concealed and I fit straight in with the other women walking through the garage.

“Alright,” Carver says, glancing down at his phone. “Ten minutes exactly.”

Grayson nods and slips a small pair of scissors into his suit pocket. “Got it,” he says, and before giving any of us a chance to say another word, he slinks off into the parking garage.

My gaze sweeps to Carver, feeling the nerves beginning to rise in my chest. “You know what you need to do?” he questions as Cruz steps into a maintenance guy’s uniform and hands me the same key card he’d used to get us through the gate.

I roll my eyes and grab the stack of random papers in the back, completing my businesswoman look. “I literally have the easiest job out of us all.”

Cruz laughs. “We could switch, but something tells me that you have absolutely no idea how to shut down the power for a building like this without electrocuting yourself.”

“Geez,” I mutter under my breath. “The lack of trust you guys have in me is astonishing.”

Cruz and Carver chuckle to themselves, but I don’t hang around to waste precious seconds. I technically have plenty of time to do what I need to do, which is pretty much nothing, but there’s always the risk that something could go wrong, and I don’t want to be the reason that this doesn’t happen.

I break away from the guys, slipping behind the parked cars beside the Escalade and making my way toward the exit of the underground parking garage. As I walk past the security barrier gate, I can’t help but glance back over my shoulder to watch as Carver steps into the service elevator and Cruz pulls open the door for the fire escape.

It’s fucking showtime.

I burst through the main entrance of the parking garage, stepping onto the sidewalk with the rest of the busy city people and allowing myself to blend into the fray of bodies. My heels click against the pavement and I hold the stack of papers close to my chest, doing my best to play the part.

The key card rests safely in my pocket and I’m more aware of it than anything I’ve ever been aware of before. I can’t afford to lose it. It’s everything. It’s our way in.

I keep my head down, not risking getting caught by any of the hundreds of cameras around and within moments, I reach the main lobby entrance of the impressive building. I walk on through the big revolving door and approach the security check where I dump the stack of papers onto the conveyor belt and scan the access key card before stepping through the metal detectors.

The guard on duty gives me a bored nod clearing me to pass, and before I’ve even stepped across to grab my stack of papers, his attention has fallen on the guy behind me.

Acting as though I’m here every weekday of my life, I walk straight past the reception area at a quick pace. I mean, if I’m going to play the role, then I want to at least appear a little important to the people around me.

Continuing through the lobby, I come to a wide corridor with three elevators on either side and I lean toward the button, swiping the access card before pressing the call button and stepping back. All of the elevators are in use so I have a little bit of a wait, and as the seconds tick by, more people come to stand around me.

Friendly colleagues partake in light conversation while pompous men bark orders into their phones. But the only thing that holds my attention is the gorgeous man who steps out of the mens’ bathroom and joins the crowd of people waiting by the elevator.
