“That’s it,” Cruz says, his jaw clenched. “Tonight it’s you and me. The others can fuck right off.”

We reach the doors and I stop, looking up and meeting his gorgeous green eyes as the boys trail behind us, getting just as much love from their adoring fans. “Do you want to make it interesting?” I murmur, keeping my voice low.

Cruz’s tongue rolls over his bottom lip. “Do I sense that you’re about to throw down a challenge?”

I grin wide. “If you can fuck me during tonight’s party, out in the open without a damn soul noticing what we’re doing, I’ll fuck the guys right off for a whole damn week.”

The boys overhear and each come to an immediate stop, crowding Cruz and me in the doorway, desperate to hear what Cruz has to say about my little challenge.

His eyes bug out of his head. “You mean that I’ll get you all to myself for a whole fucking week? No sharing?”

“No sharing.”

Carver shakes his head. “No. No fucking way,” he says, but I keep my gaze locked on Cruz.

“What’s it going to be, Danforth? Are you down for the challenge? Can you handle the pressure?”

King looks between me and Cruz, seeing all his hopes and dreams slowly burning in a fiery pit of death. “Duuuuude. Come on. Don’t fucking cock block us like this. We’re brothers. You can’t do this to us.”

King’s desperation only makes Cruz’s grin widen in the most devious, seductive way, his eyes shining with excitement. “You’re fucking on.”

Grayson groans and before he breaks down in tears in front of all these people, he turns and walks straight through the doors, more than ready to pretend that the next week of his life doesn’t exist. Though, that’s assuming Cruz can actually pull this off. There are so many people here tonight that this challenge is nearly impossible, but if he still wanted to drag me away and fuck me in private, I’d be cool with that too.

Cruz’s arm slips through mine and he quickly adjusts himself before walking forward with newfound determination. His chin is raised and his shoulders held strong, looking like every girl’s version of a wet dream which only gets better as my gaze travels down over his impeccable suit.

I keep up with him step for step as King and Carver trail behind us, murmuring to each other about the likelihood that Cruz will choke, leaving me wide open for the taking later tonight, which only prompts a quick round of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

We walk through a long entrance and much like the ball that we never speak of, we’re brought to a stop at the top of a massive staircase. My heart thunders in my chest, looking over the spectacular sight.

There are people everywhere in amazing gowns, waitresses weaving their way through the room with champagne glasses, and more security than anyone has the right to see in one place.

The room has been completely decked out in decorations and I find myself sucking in a deep gasp, completely astonished by the effort that the Dynasty event organizers have gone to. They deserve a freaking medal for this shit.

One by one, the people notice us at the top of the stairs and their sharp gazes fall on me, their eyes trailing over my gown. Brows are raised as sly, dirty grins stretch across some of the mens’ faces, while their wives scowl at the slit in my gown that trails right up my thigh, not stopping until it reaches the top of my hip. The dress is controversial, but it felt so right that I had no choice but to wear it. I just have to be careful as one wrong step walking down these stairs would have my pussy out on display for the whole world to see.

My impatience gets the best of me and I draw in a deep breath before squeezing Cruz’s arm and taking my first step down into the party. He holds me tight and the excitement quickly takes over. Tonight is going to be incredible; I can feel it deep in my bones. Tonight is about a new change. It’s about starting fresh and taking back what’s ours.

I get halfway down the stairs when a vision of the ball flashes through my mind—me walking down the stairs with my arm in Carver’s. His panicked stare. The horror on the boys’ faces. The explosion before the undeniable pain and grieving.

The memories flash through my mind like a movie on replay and I start gasping for oxygen, my gaze flicking around the room, certain that tonight is going to be a repeat of one of the worst nights of my life. It’s like I took a single step and my whole world flipped upside down.

“You’re okay,” Cruz says, his tone soothing the fear that lives deep inside me. “The whole room has been swept for explosives. We’re safe. Knox can’t hurt us, not tonight.”
