Maizy shook with laughter and she squealed when he buried his face in her lush cleavage and blew a raspberry. “Now you get to tell me about your romantic past.”
“Oh, no. You don’t want to hear about that.”
“I do.”
“You don’t. It’ll take about thirty seconds to tell the story and by the time I’m done, you’ll be snoring.”
“Ah,” he said, nuzzling her throat. “You’re nearly innocent, huh? I think I like that more. Tell me, baby.”
“I dated Chaz on and off throughout high school but he was a total jock and all his friends were jocks. It didn’t really go anywhere. During college, I met a guy and we dated for a while. He was good to me but he was rather passive and I didn’t feel any fire. We mostly kept each other company I suppose. After college, I returned to Divine, and it seemed like Chaz had grown up a little so we started dating again. In retrospect, when he proposed, I think I accepted because it just seemed like the natural progression, like we were meant to be.”
“And when he broke it off?”
“It hurt my feelings but it didn’t break me.” She looked up at him and whispered, “I’ve never felt anything even close to what I feel when I’m with you, Heath, and with the three of you. You make me feel…alive.”
His heart soared. The way her eyes glowed and the way she bit her lip as if she wondered what he was thinking. The way she held on to him, went along with them in the way they played sexually, and wanted to pleasure them in return. That was what he wanted from the night he’d first seen her, and every day afterward. Something that was real and would last.
He’d stopped her from speaking the night before, from returning those words he’d given her, because he didn’t want her speaking them out of obligation. When she spoke them, if she spoke them, he wanted the words to come freely from her heart. Unstoppable.
“I feel it, too,” he whispered before he kissed her, melding his lips to hers, caressing the warm recesses of her mouth with his tongue and welcoming her into his mouth to do the same. She sighed softly and tightened her arms around his neck until her hot skin was sealed against his.
The sound of a bird flapping its wings and squawking in a tree nearby distracted them and Maizy looked up at him and said, “Now you know my boring past.”
Heath grinned. “That’s the great thing about the past. The only way to go is forward and I plan to do my part to make life as exciting for you as you can handle.”
They played splash and chase in the pool for a little while. Maizy was a good swimmer, and when she finally let him catch her, she kissed him breathlessly and let him cuddle her for a few more minutes.
“You know what I heard?” he asked softly as he treaded water toward the shallows with her in his arms.
“What did you heard?” she asked playfully, mimicking him and stroking the golden hair on his chest.
“I heard you took advantage of Spencer in the truck last night.”
A sparkle came into her eyes and she said, “I did! I don’t regret it at all. I respect how the three of you feel about taking your time, enjoying the arousal and the journey as much as the release, but if this is going to work, sometimes I’m calling the shots, too.”
He floated with her as he watched the play of emotions on her face. Caution, mixed with need, and playfulness. “Is that so?”
“Mmm-hmm.” She nodded slowly, staring into his eyes. “Next time we’re all nekkid together, I’m having all three of you the way I want you.”
“Is that a fact?”
“Yup. You’re mine to toy with.”
Heath shook with laughter and patted her ass. “Chain me to a wall and do your worst, baby. I agree to a little give and take. We just want you to know that we’ll take good care of you.”
“Okay.”
“Are you getting hungry?”
“I am.”
He helped her out of the pool and watched her face with enjoyment as he slowly slid the shoulder straps of her swimsuit off of her shoulders and stripped the suit from her right there on the back porch. “Heath!” She looked all around them but he kept his eyes on her.
