“You’re crazy.”

“I’m crazy? No. There was no mistaking the look on your face every time I touched her. Why do you think I didn’t come back into your room?”

“What look? What are you talking about?”

He should have known he couldn’t hide anything from Aleks. He could pick up on his mood in less than two minutes. They were more than best friends, they were brothers.

“Just answer one question for me.”

“What?” He didn’t appreciate the interrogation.

“When you look at her, what do you see?”

“What do I see? I see a woman who wants sex.”

“Not the answer I’m looking for.” Aleks settled into the cushion, resting his arm on the back of the couch. “I can see you’re different. Your body language, your voice, not to mention that when we were together with her you looked at me like you wanted to rip my dick off.”

“She enjoyed it. We made her fantasy come true.”

“Rob, you’ve been my best friend for a long time, and I’d like to think that I would be able to know when you’re in love.”

“In love! I just met her.”

“That doesn’t matter.”

Shit. Was he that obvious? Looked like his idea of playing it cool wasn’t so cool.

“You’re not denying it.” Aleks got up off the couch and stood in front of Rob, the look on his face told him he wasn’t joking. “I’ve known something about you for a long time, and I never mentioned it because guys don’t talk about shit like this.”

“Dude, you’re talking in riddles.”

“Remember when we graduated from high school and Steve Frost had that party?”

“You mean the night I got wasted, you carried me home, and I woke up in my own puke?”

“That’s the one.” He paced. “You said something during your drunken mumblings. I asked you about Kate and whether you guys were going to take it further.”

“We talked about that?”

“Yes, and do you know what you said?”

Rob shook his head. Technically he didn’t remember anything after doing that keg stand.

“You said you and Kate wouldn’t work out because she didn’t look like...forever.”

Rob couldn’t believe what he’d just heard. He had never told anyone about how he felt. “You’ve known all this time?”

Aleks nodded. “And so does your sister. She was there. That’s why I am asking. When you look at Martina do you see forever? That would explain your weird behavior.”

Rob was stunned speechless.

“The fact that you aren’t answering is answer enough.”

Aleks sat back down on the couch. “Amie told me Martina’s leaving. Go and talk to her. If you have feelings for this girl don’t let her get away.”

“She’s only looking for sex. No strings attached. I can’t just say ‘hey, I’d like to add some strings to our relationship.’”

“Maybe, but what if she feels the same way? What if she is the one?”
