Page 48 of Propositioning Love

The self-righteous, arrogant asshole has come home to set his big fucking stick on the table.

Daniel comes back to our side of the table and I slide him his own copy of the new contract that I’ve conveniently left open at the appropriate page. When he looks up at me with shock, I grin at him. Yeah, time for me to play.

“This isn’t right!” Kang shouts. “How dare you?!”

“This offer is…” Feng groans quietly.

“What is the meaning of this?” Wong asks with anger.

“The meaning is, you have cost my company time and resources. You have cost us revenue. Nine-point-eight percent to be exact. You’ve also significantly undermined my assurance that the company’s transfer from you to us would be smooth and seamless,” I say as the smile slides off my face.

“You insult us!” Kang bellows as he tries to rip the contract from his father’s hands. “We’ll never accept this… this… shit!”

“Mr. Wong,” Daniel says in his smooth southern drawl.

He’s going into the good cop portion of our routine.

“Yes,” he says, looking up from the contract, his hands trembling slightly.

He’s been insulted by us, but in a way he can’t blame us for. He knows his failure to control his son is only going to make this worse.

“I suggest you and Mr. Ericsson speak together for a few minutes,” Daniel says.

Both sons look angry now, but Kang looks like he’s going to blow his top. He’s sweating profusely, and his skin looks like it’s lost quite a bit of his natural color. Only the cheeks on his face show any color, bright red.

“Get out of here, assholes,” Kang says before he starts racing around the table.

Fucker looks like he might actually mean me physical harm.

God, I hope he fucking tries.

This ruthless aggression in the fucking boardroom isn’t doing anything for me right now. I need to be between Zoe’s thighs, trying to knock her up. Not dealing with this shit.

“Get out!” A voice bellows above all the loud shouting as Kang stands in front of me, panting and puffing in useless rage.

“I said all of you, get out now!” Old man Wong bellows again at the top of his lungs, and I swear I would be heading for the door if I was anyone but me.

Daniel grins at me as he leans his head in close to Feng’s and escorts him out of the office. He’s reassuring the guy that all is not lost.

Four of the board members surround Kang and escort him out of the meeting room. He’s not quiet as he walks out of the office, but he can lick my ass for all I care right now.

When the door is finally closed, I grab a new contract from my briefcase and stand up from my side of the table.

“Are you going to insult me and cut out even more of my heart, Mr. Ericsson?” Mr. Wong asks with resignation.

I could do that. He knows originally I was giving him a very good offer for what the company was worth. What I just showed him was the future, if he doesn’t play his cards right.

“On the flight over here, I was preparing to rip this company from your hands with razors. Then I looked further into what’s happening around here, and now I have a different offer,” I say as I take the first contract out of his hands then give him the one I want him to actually agree to.

Walking over to the coffee machine, I shred and then drop the bad contract into the garbage can.

“Coffee?” I ask as I start to make myself a cup.

“Why do I feel like you should be pouring something stronger into the cup? Either way, yes please,” he says wearily as he begins to leaf through the contract.

“First thing I discovered was that congratulations are in order, Mr. Wong. I hear you’re to have your first grandchild,” I say as I pour us both steaming hot cups of coffee. “Black?”

“With one spoonful of sugar. And you are correct, I will be having a granddaughter,” he says with a touch of happiness.

Grandchildren… I can’t wait to see what Zoe’s and mine will look like.

“That’s good,” I say, and then carry the steaming cups over to where Mr. Wong is sitting.

Pulling out the chair beside him, I take my jacket off and set it on the back.

Loosening my tie, I grin at his confused look.

“Mr. Wong, I’m Bryce,” I say as I offer my hand to him.

Taking my hand in his, he shakes it. “Heon… What is going on here Mr… Bryce?”

“Page thirty-four,” I say with a smile.

Looking down to the contract, he flips through the pages. Landing on the correct one, he starts to read it carefully. His eyes snap up to meet mine and he starts to say something, but stops himself.
