“It happened? You came out?” he asked Jonah.
Jonah nodded, smiling. I noticed a slight blush on his cheeks, the glow ever brighter in his eyes.
“Woohoo!” Oliver pulled a device from his pocket. “Welcome to the gay-side!” He pressed the lone button and, from all around the room, secretly hidden confetti cannons shot off, filling the air with rainbow-colored paper. People were clapping and cheering, and then I was introduced to the entire family and instantly welcomed in as one of their own.
Jonah and I barely let go of each other’s hands for the entire day.
