“My fault. I hate being late.” Coury rounded the bannister and swept his gaze up and down Liam. “You look nice.”

Liam flushed and shrugged. It had taken way too long to figure out what to wear. “Thanks. I figured if we weren’t going to a frat party . . .”

Coury eyed him again and smiled. “Now I know what to wear.”

They climbed a second flight and turned left for Coury’s room.

Coury pushed open his door, tossed his bag by his bed, and pulled his three layers of shirts off in one move. Liam stared, memorizing how the muscles in his back rippled when he moved. When Coury spun around, he gave Liam a full view of his toned, muscular torso. The tight, defined chest and eight pack covered in a dusting of light brown hair were a fantasy come to life.

“Give me five minutes and I’ll be ready.”

Liam whipped his head up and felt his cheeks burn. He forced himself to smile. “The lecture is at eight. We still have almost two hours.”

“Sorry, I don’t do late. I leave that for Beckett.”

“We all leave that for Becks.”

Coury unsnapped his jeans and pushed them and his boxers to the floor. Lucky for Liam, Coury wasn’t looking at him or he’d have seen the way his eyes roamed. He jerked his gaze up. Somehow Liam didn’t think his brother’s best friend would appreciate him getting hard at the sight of his body.

“I’ll be quick,” Coury said. He’d wrapped a towel around his waist as he approached Liam, shower kit in hand. He gestured vaguely toward his bed. “Make yourself comfortable.”

He left before Liam could reply. Which was a good thing, because fuck, being that close to a naked Coury robbed him of the ability to speak.

Sitting on the end of Coury’s bed, he adjusted his painfully hard cock. “Down boy,” he whispered. He needed to get himself under control. No way he’d walk downstairs with a woody.

Maybe he needed to wait in the lounge. Seeing wet naked Coury might be too much.

He slid his phone from his pocket and opened a game. When Coury returned, Liam would keep his face focused on the screen. He would not look up.

Nope.

Coury

The lecture hall wasn’t packed, but for a Friday night it was a good crowd, better than Coury had expected. Liam was an excited bundle of energy. That made the evening a success. If he got bored, he’d remember that image.

“There?” Coury pointed to an empty row near the back.

“No, I want to sit up front.” Liam waved toward the stage. “Come on, there are plenty of seats up there.”

“All the way?”

“Yes.”

Coury hesitated, but Liam grabbed his arm, a nice firm grip. “Come on, silly. There’s nothing scary about sitting up there.”

Not if you were smart, like Liam. For Coury, the goal was not to get noticed, especially by his professor, who was giving the lecture.

Liam led them front and center and took the two seats on the end of the row.

Someone joined them and sat one seat from Liam. He had very bright, smiling eyes. Older, thirty-something. Mature student, maybe? Probably someone smart who sat in the front row a lot, not like Coury.

Bright Eyes smiled at them and opened the program.

“You okay?” Liam asked, catching Coury’s expression.

Coury chuckled. “Why, do I look ready to hurl?”

“Maybe?” Liam bit his lip. “Are you really that uncomfortable sitting up front?”

Coury shook his head, and then nodded. “A bit. Yes. But tonight is about you. If this is where you want to sit, I’ll manage.”

Liam’s face lit up with his smile. “Thanks. You’re . . . this is really great.”

“It wouldn’t be much of Lionheart’s choice if we went to my frat party.”

He got an elbow in the side and flinched involuntarily. “Oh shit, Coury. I’m sorry. Did I hit your injured side?”

“It’s fine.” Coury breathed in deep to be sure. “I’m just babying it.”

“No. I need to be more careful.”

“Stop.” He put his hand on Liam’s leg. “It’s an oblique muscle. You can’t hurt it with a little elbow. No more stressing. Enjoy tonight. You deserve it.”

Liam kept his gaze on Coury’s ribs for a second, then nodded. “Okay, but thank you. Again. You’re right, I really want to see this. If I’d known Dr. Glover would be teaching this semester, I’d have waited to take the class from him. You’re so lucky.”

Dr. Glover, in a dark gray suit, walked past before Coury could answer. He stopped less than two feet from them and gave Bright Eyes a smile that suggested they knew each other—well.

Dr. Glover raised his head and addressed the room. “If everyone could take their seats, we can get started.”

Coury felt lost when he stood and clapped with the others. He’d understood more than he expected, but paleontology wasn’t a passion for him. Liam, however, had listened with rapt attention. Coury could’ve taken his clothes off and danced in front of his chair and he doubted Liam would have torn his eyes from Professor Glover. He half-expected him to throw himself at the guy.
