I eyed him with a death stare. He stood and walked to the bedroom where the game was also on full blast.

There was only so much I could expect to change in the man. I knew who I married. And I fucking loved him. Dirty mouth. Dirty thoughts. The dirty things he did to me in bed. I smiled. And then there was the man who changed diapers at 3 a.m. The man who watched over me during my entire pregnancy. The man who would die before he’d let anything happen to our little girl. I couldn’t have one without the other.

I listened to Gloria and Bud blow bubbles at Charlotte and curled my legs behind me on the couch.

I had moved to San Antonio focused on medicine. Focused on finding a new life for myself. And in this room I had it all. A new family and a man I would love the rest of my life.

A Special Secret

Deleted Honeymoon Scene from Double Score

“Right this way, Mrs. James.” I giggled when the valet opened the door.

Dylan corrected the man with the thick island accent. “It’s McCade, but thanks, buddy.” He rolled some bills into his hands. “I think I can take it from here.”

I grinned at my husband. The valet shuffled down the hall as Dylan scooped me in his arms. I squealed. “You know I’m ok if I’m Vanessa James sometimes,” I whispered.

“I know you are, darlin’, but damn girl—you’re a McCade. You’ve proven it over and over.”

I smiled. I had somehow embraced the warrior in me. Maybe it was because I was in love with two Warriors of my own.

Dylan kicked the door open and I felt my heart race.

“You know I have a special honeymoon surprise for you?” He waggled his eyebrows.

I bit my lip. “You do? What is it?”

He carried me through the suite. I barely had time to notice the flowers and champagne. I knew he had probably ordered sparkling cider for me.

“Tell me.” I playfully beat on his chest. He had changed into a short-sleeved button-up shirt on the jet after the reception.

The last thing I wanted to do was take off my wedding dress. The ceremony had been beautiful. The ranch was the perfect setting.

Saying my I-dos to Dylan, while committing to him and Isaac was the most special day of my life. Taking off the white lace dress meant that day was almost over.

I was wearing a strappy white sundress. I still felt bridal.

From Austin the flight to the Bahamas didn’t take long. Three nights in paradise before we headed back to Texas for the playoffs and the holidays.

Dylan knocked the second set of doors ajar with his foot.

My jaw dropped. “Isaac.”

“Hey, baby.” He rose from the bed.

Dylan smiled. “Surprised?”

I looked between them. “But how did you? How did you get here before us? We took the jet.” How did they pull this off?

“Can’t tell you that.” Isaac pulled me into his arms. He brushed his lips over mine and I relaxed into his kiss. I hadn’t been able to steal one from him all day. It killed each other not to be able to touch.

His hand coasted to my belly. “How’s our baby?”

I smiled as Dylan nuzzled behind me. “Our baby?”

“Yeah, team baby? Does that sound better?”
