Like I wish I could eat all the cake in the world. I love cake. But, I don’t want the calories. See, it’s called a conditional wish. I just made that up, just now, but let’s make it a thing. Maybe I’ll tweet it.

Anyway, I’m losing track. Emmett is the type of man I wish would want me, with conditions. A whole lot of conditions.

Like for example, I would want our working relationship to go unaffected. And trust me, I’ve heard all the stories about people saying they can sleep with someone and still act the exact same way around them.

And who knows, maybe I wasn’t born with that certain sector of my brain. Because when I sleep with someone it changes everything. Most times it ends up with my naked nudes in some silly gossip rag, and my PR works double time to nip it in the butt...quite literally. It only happened once, and I wasn’t completely nude. Thank god.

But still.

Do you see why dating is next to impossible?

And oh sure, I could date an actor….puhleease. No thank you. The only thing more conceited than a male movie star is their ego. Trust me, they’re the worst.

So, for me, it’s been months and months of solitude.

The closest I’ve come to having an intimate evening was with BOB, my battery-operated-boyfriend.

But, it’s ok. Most days I’m so busy working, studying my craft, or trying my hardest to land new movie deals that I hardly even notice being alone. Other days, especially around the holidays, I just yearn for a warm body to hold me close.

Instead of answering, I laugh as the waitress stops by to get my order, and I tell her I’ll have a peppermint mocha. Let’s face it, Emmett’s out of my league. And he’s the type of guy who knows it. And I’ve heard he’s dated half of Hollywood, well, he’s slept with half of Hollywood.

Raven smiles. “Do you have a date for my premier?”

And I answer, the same answer I’ve had for every other premier we’ve gone to together. “Yes, you.”

She laughs. “Not this time, hun. I have an actual date.”

My eyes widen, and my heart beats faster. “You let me sit here for however long before you decided to lay this on me?” I laugh.

She shrugs. “It’s nothing so great. Just a new producer wanting to get into rap music.”

“Oh. Do you even like rap music?”

She laughs, shaking her head. “No, guess not.” She takes the last bite of her sandwich and shuffles from her seat. “I have to get going. I can’t be late for Timmy Tallon tonight.”

“Have fun,” I call off to her, and then let my mind wander back to Emmett. The one man I can’t quite figure out.

I want him, but how would it work.

And then, an idea hits me.

Emmett

Have you ever had one of those days? Where nothing too spectacular happens, but for some reason you know something bigger is on the horizon. Having the Karl Devon movie land in my lap is not the only huge thing I have going on in my lap right now. Yes, I’m talking about that. Most men will say they’ve got a nice long package, but I’ve got the references to back it up. And guess what, it’s not as many as you may think.

Sure, I’ve been labeled Hollywood’s bad boy agent, complete with a track record of dating every super model who passes my path. But, hey, guess what? It’s so not true. You can’t believe everything you read in the gossip column.

Trust me, sometimes I think I need to hire a PR person just for me.

I’m the top agent in all of Hollywood. I know I know. Some people may say, hey Emmett how can you be so cocky. But, it’s not an opinion, it’s not cockiness….I really am the top agent in all of Hollywood. In all the world if we’re speaking honestly here.

And my roster of actors and actresses is long and thick. Like other things. My agency is the biggest in all of La La Land.

I guess I like big things.

And a Karl Devon movie is just that, a big fucking thing. Karl Devon is one of those producers who comes around every ten years, makes a movie, and bam, it’s the next hottest thing. Remember, Doomsday? Yeah, that was him. One of the top grossing movies of all time. The only movie to ever come close to those numbers is Seraphina, two years ago. And yeah, I have the hot little actress that played Seraphina on my roster.

She just happens to be one of my top clients.

But, let me let you in on a little secret. Man, oh fuck, if she wasn’t a client I’d have her bent over my desk in a heartbeat screaming out my name.

I’ve never wanted anyone so badly in all my life.
