“You’re beautiful in the morning.” he said.

“Well, you’ve seen me in the morning before.”

“I know, just not like this. This is more relaxed and we don’t have to rush to go anywhere.”

“Actually, we still have to go to brunch. Should we be eating so much right now?”

“Have you seen Sandra? That woman doesn’t eat.”

I laughed, “She’s not that thin!”

“Shit, you could have fooled me.”

“You’re so silly.”

“I can be. But don’t tell anyone.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it.”

We enjoyed the morning and made it a lazy one. We leisurely got prepared for brunch and headed out for a great late morning. He was right when he said that Sandra didn’t eat. I was happy that we ate that morning because there was no way that I could survive on infused water and finger sandwiches. The best thing about the brunch was the conversation and the mimosas.

We went back to the hotel and Vincent was preparing for a meeting. I was a little sad that he had to go without me but we were there for business and not pleasure. It wasn’t his job to babysit me. I was supposed to be his company.

He looked good in his crisp white short sleeve dress shirt and lightweight tan dress pants. I wanted to tackle him and take him back to bed with me.

“What are you looking at?” He said.

“You, of course, and I’m really enjoying the view.”

He walked over to me and kissed me. He then went to his bag and pulled out an envelope. He handed it out towards me, “Take this. Buy a nice dress for dinner this evening.”

“But I already have a dress.”

“I thought that women loved shopping. Are you saying that you have too many dresses?”

I plucked the envelope from his hands, “I don’t want to seem ungrateful, so I guess I can take it and shop around.”

“That’s my girl. I’m sure you’ll love the clothes here.”

“When will you be back?”

“In about five to six hours. So that will leave you with plenty of time to explore the area. Is that a slight pout that I see on your face?”

“I was trying to hide it.”

“What’s wrong?” He focused all of his attention on me and I suddenly felt like a drama queen.

“Nothing, I’ll be fine.”

“Don’t say nothing. When I ask what’s wrong, it’s because I really want to know. Do you no longer feel comfortable? Did you want to go home?”

“No, I don’t want to go home.” I said quickly.

He looked relieved, “Okay, then what?”

“I’m going to miss you.” I said quickly.

His face softened and he caressed my cheek with his hand. I closed my eyes because I was torn between two different feelings. I had to remember why I was there and to not get too attached. But all of the signals were there. We didn’t seem like we had an arrangement anymore, my feelings were involved and his were too. I opened my eyes to look into his and they reflected the same kind of confusion.
