Inhaling a breath I do my best to relax and he slips inside a little more.

I don’t know why I expected him to slam into me, to not be gentle. But he’s taking his time, making sure I’m comfortable.

I’ve only had sex with two other guys, only once with one and a handful of times with the other. God, the other. I refuse to even think his name. We dated for a short time before I realized what a jerk he was, that he was only using me. If I ever see him again I’m punching him in the face if only to see the look of utter surprise he’ll sport.

“Are you with me?” Hollis asks, his voice hoarse from restraint as he brings me back to the present.

Hollis. I’m here with Hollis. Not him.

This is okay. This is right.

I nod. “I’m with you.”

“Breathe,” he coaxes.

I listen and as I do he slides all the way in.

I gasp, my fingers clawing at his chest. He lets me, not at all bothered by the damage I’m leaving behind.

He kisses me, effectively distracting me. I kiss him back deeply, with everything I have, and he moans into my mouth. I take that sound and swallow it, savoring it. Seeing him like this is beyond anything I ever expected.

He cups my breasts, testing their fullness in his hands before he glides them down to settle at my hips. He lifts them as he slowly retreats the tiniest bit before pushing back in.

Now, it’s my turn to moan.

It feels good, too good, amazing even. It’s never been like this before, and I don’t know whether the difference is Hollis making sure I’m comfortable and enjoying myself or our chemistry, but I’m thinking it’s a mix of the two.

He can feel my body relaxing, responding to his touch. I feel like liquid and the only thing keeping me from slipping away is him.

He slides out further this time and back in.

“More,” I beg brokenly. “I’m ready.”

He stares at me, unsure.

“Please.”

It’s the only word he needs to hear.

From that moment on we turn into wild raging chaos. Something that cannot be chained or tamed.

It’s fierce, all-consuming, a fire raging through the both of us, lighting us on fire until we emerge from the flames born anew.

Hollis

Some time later I blearily blink open my eyes, my surroundings coming into focus. I smile at the sight of Mia’s naked body curled against mine. Her fist is pressed beneath her chin in sleep, her breaths light and airy, with lashes fanning against her cheeks. She looks peaceful, completely at ease, and I can’t help but hope she still feels that way when she wakes up. If she regrets it … fuck, it’d make me feel guilty, miserable, absolutely pathetic.

I reach over her body for my phone on the floor where it fell out of my pocket, doing my best not to disturb her. She makes a squeak of protest but doesn’t rouse. I manage to get my fingers onto the phone and scoot it closer until I can fully grab it.

I lift it up, squinting at the time.

That can’t be right.

I stare at it longer, my eyes widening in horror. There are less than fifteen minutes until nine—nine when I know Hayes arrives to get settled before we come in around ten.

We have to get dressed and out of here now.
