“I know,” I say in agreement.

I hug Dean goodbye too and watch them head in the direction of the nearby parking garage.

Hollis gives my hand a squeeze, and I turn around. Rush and Kira have vanished leaving only the two of us and passersby. The old-timey lights cast a warm golden glow in the night air. Hollis’s hair flops messily over his forehead, several days worth of stubble dotting his jaw.

“Hey, handsome, want to go back to my place?” I joke and he laughs.

“Is that your best pick up line?” He chortles.

“I wasn’t trying to pick you up, so if it worked, then yes.”

He shakes his head, fighting a grin.

“Come on, crazy girl. I’ve been dying to touch you all night,” he growls the last part in my ear.

We head back to my apartment, and I barely get the door unlocked before he’s picked me up and pressed my back into the wall. My legs clamp around his waist and my arms twine around his neck.

His lips devour mine, eager and desperate.

Clearly, tonight, pretending we don’t care about each other, was as hard on him as it was on me.

I breathe him in, kissing him back with all that I have and all that I am.

It’s a frantic, aching kind of kiss, born of desperation and need.

A need so powerful we’re both helpless to it.

My fingers delve into the soft locks of his hair. I hold on tight, not wanting the kiss to end.

His fingers edge under my sweater and I shiver at the feel of his chilled fingertips against my heated skin.

He deepens the kiss, his tongue sweeping inside.

His fingers skim higher, stopping at the edge of my bra. He rubs them back and forth tauntingly.

I feel like I’m burning from the inside out.

“Please,” I beg.

I don’t even know what I’m begging for.

He bites my bottom lip. “Whatever you want, it’s yours,” he pants.

His lips move down my neck and I remove my arms from around him. He pulls far enough away to let me take off my sweater and toss it aside.

Things become chaotic, our desperation making us frantic.

I claw at his shirt, pulling it over his head.

He unclasps my bra and it falls to the floor.

He sets me down and we both fumble to rid the other of

their jeans.

Once everything is off we stumble to my bed, tripping over the clothes and ourselves, but somehow making it without falling over completely or spraining an ankle.

The ache between my legs pounds in time with my heartbeat.
