I arrived at the hotel ballroom my assistant had rented out for the party. I ended up getting the tuxedo I wanted, but I made a few adjustments to it. Instead of going all black like I had intended, I chose a dark crimson as the fabric base. The collar of my suit coat was black, like my button-up shirt. My shoes were shined and gleaming with their black leather, and the crimson red tie I wore offset the black accents. My mask was silver. It covered half my face, suctioning to it like a magnet. I was nervous, though. My intent had been to pick up Olivia from her place, but she had messaged me last minute and told me she would meet me here.

I was fully prepared to be stood up that night.

The catering was spectacular. Finger foods on silver trays passed by. The best champagne and red wine floated by everyone’s shoulders. The live band had kicked it into gear, and the dancing was officially underway. And the decorations were to die for. The ballroom was two stories, and there were French double doors that peppered the second-story walls. They threw themselves open onto private wrought iron balconies, places I knew people would fill with their stolen kisses and their cigarette smoke. My eyes danced around, constantly making their way over to the door. The party had started almost an hour ago, and Olivia was nowhere in sight.

I almost gave up on her making an appearance. Until a shadow caught my eye.

I whipped my head over to the door and watched the shadow grow bigger. I stood on the edge of the dance floor, nursing a glass of champagne. The shadow grew thicker. Starker. More devilish. And then, the sound of heels hit my ears. One step. Two steps. Three steps. Four. The sound of the music faded away, and the patter of dancing feet faded to the background.

But when Olivia came around the corner, my entire world fell silent.

I almost dropped the damn crystal glass from between my fingers. Olivia looked positively sexy. Her dress was pitch-black, with red accents dotted all over her ball gown. The halter top clung around her neck and dipped into a very low line, showcasing the cleavage she had shoved up and into the cups of the dress. The roundness of her breasts called to me as our eyes connected through her mask. A sparkling red mask covered the top half of her face and was lined with red and silver feathers.

My eyes slid down her body as she made her way for me. There was a red ribbon tied around her waist, accenting the salacious dip her body afforded her silhouette as she walked to me. Her hips swayed. Her dress sashayed around her legs. It fell all the way to the ground with a slit up her right leg. It trickled all the way up her thigh and sat dangerously close to her hip. Every time her leg peeked out to take another step, her skin glistened. The tan of her melanin called to me, so much so that I licked my lips.

I felt my heart racing in my ears as she came up to me, her head craned back and her deep sea eyes locked with mine.

“Fancy meeting you here,” she said, grinning.

“You should not have worn a dress like that,” I said.

“Why? Too much?”

I dipped my lips to her ear as I took her hand within mine.

“No. It’s just that you look like my perfect little sweet treat,” I whispered.

I felt her ear press into my lips, and I kissed it. Just the smallest pucker, meant only for us. I had called her that the first night we’d ever met—my little sweet treat to unwrap. That entire statement forecasted a night for us I knew she wouldn’t protest. A night I knew she wouldn’t turn down. I pulled her hand, leading her out onto the dance floor. I wanted to get my arms around her. I wanted to settle my muscles into the dip of her waist. I spun her around, watching the fabric of her gown expose more of a thigh I wanted to sink my teeth into.

I kept my groans to myself as I pulled her into me and wrapped my free arm tightly around her waist.

“I didn’t know you could dance,” Olivia said.

“There’s plenty about me you still don’t know,” I said.

“Well, then why don’t you inform me of something else I don’t know.”

I pressed my lips against the shell of her ear, pulling her close to me as we swayed around in a circle.

“I’m going to unwrap you slowly tonight,” I murmured.

“Was that supposed to be something I didn’t know?” she asked.

I felt my cock throb, and I bit down onto my lower lip to keep myself in check.
