“Maybe after a drink or two, I could get you to loosen up.”

“Down, boy,” I said, grinning.

You can’t drink anymore, Olivia.

“So, what do you say? You get a good night’s rest, sleep in tomorrow. Have yourself a relaxing day, then come have a drink with me and Mason,” Brett said.

“You really want me to go, don’t you?” I asked.

“I really do, Olive.”

I’d never be able to resist wanting to make him happy.

“Okay, then. If I’m feeling better and not completely exhausted, I’ll go with you,” I said.

“Then, I look forward to our potential outing. Get some rest, Olivia,” he said.

“You too, Brett.”

I was more than ready to take Olivia out to show her off. And I was excited to do it in front of Mason. Time changed a lot of things, and I was hoping he’d warm up to the idea of me and Olivia being back together. But we wouldn’t be official until we had that conversation, until we sat down, looked each other in the eyes, and talked about how we really felt. There had been signs along the way: her telling Daniel we were seeing each other, neither of us correcting my mother at lunch, the simple way we gravitated to one another. We were practically together, but I’d never been one to enjoy assumptions. I wanted to hear how she was mine straight from her lips.

And I knew where I wanted to hear it.

“Yes, Mr. Greyson?”

“Katherine! Sorry to bother you on a Saturday. I need you to book me a personal trip,” I said.

“Of course, sir. Where to, and when?” she asked.

“Amsterdam. I want my jet leaving Sunday morning, and I want a waterfront hotel suite booked up for at least two weeks.”

“You’ll be gone for two weeks, sir?”

“I want the option to be gone that long, yes. I want a private car and a personal driver situated on that end as well. Let the pilot know there will be two flying on the plane out Sunday morning.”

“Two passengers. Amsterdam. Sunday morning. Private car and driver. Waterfront hotel. Did I miss anything?” she asked.

“You never do. Let me know when you have the details confirmed.”

“Of course. I’ll send you the confirmations emails, as per usual.”

“Thank you, Katherine. Enjoy your weekend,” I said.

Within an hour, I had everything confirmed. That woman was a rocket, and I’d be sad to lose her once she graduated from college. I opened my laptop and got some work done, biding my time until I heard from Olivia. But when she didn’t call to confirm or deny plans for tonight, I called her myself.

“I was wondering when you would get in touch,” she said.

“Funny, I figured you’d call me,” I said.

“The woman never chases the man. I thought you knew this already.”

I grinned as I set my laptop off to the side. “You sound rested.”

“I feel rested.”

“Does that mean I can expect you on my arm tonight?” I asked.

“Just tell me when and where?”

“What if I come pick you up within the hour? Mason and I usually meet around eight for drinks. It’s not a time that’s set in stone, but it’s a routine we’ve set over the years.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing him again. I’ll go ahead and start getting ready,” she said.

“I’ll see you soon, beautiful.”

“Can’t wait, handsome.”

I had butterflies in my stomach as I drove to her place. It was amazing, what her voice could do to me. She came down the steps of her apartment and jumped into my car, and I immediately leaned over and kissed her, capturing her lips within mine and stilling her movements. Her hand came up and cupped my cheek. She pushed closer into me, like it was where she wanted to be. I felt my cock jump and pulled back, knowing that if I kissed her any longer that neither of us would make it for drinks.

“You look great,” I said.

“I’m in jeans and a blouse,” she said, giggling.

“And you rock the hell out of it.”

Olivia and myself made our way to the bar and had two drinks before Mason came and sat down with us. Well, I had two drinks. She had two glasses of water. Mason sat down in front of us almost thirty minutes later than when he usually arrived, and he didn’t look happy.

“Long day at work?” I asked.

“You have no idea,” Mason said.

“Hey there, Mase. It’s good to see you again,” Olivia said.

His eyes darted over to her, but he didn’t say anything.

“Did you work at all today?” Mason asked as his eyes returned to mine.

“Just some remote stuff from my laptop. Nothing major. Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked.

“Just some late nights that are catching up with me,” Mason said.

“Oh, I can totally relate to those. I pulled a couple of them this past week. Brett’s whole plan to go international is keeping both of us up,” Olivia said.
