“Spencer…” I whispered, my eyes closing as I carried on rocking my hips against him. “Spencer, I’m close.”

“Good girl, come for me,” he replied in a silky, deep voice.

My nails dug into the meat of his chest as I reached the peak of my pleasure, screaming his name into the still night air surrounding us. It wasn’t long before Spencer was crying out too and spilling his come inside me.

We collapsed back together after that and indulged in a long cuddle while the stars twinkled above us. In that moment, I couldn’t fathom a single reason why us being together was a bad thing. My post—orgasm haze clouded by better judgment as I snuggled in closer to him and pressed my head against his chest.

“Hawaii is beautiful,” I whispered. “Thank you for bringing me here.”

Spencer’s arm wrapped tight around my shoulders before he replied, “I’d take you anywhere you ever wanted, Rylee. I just want to make you happy.”

The words caused my face to warm and I nodded my understanding. After a few more minutes of gentle silence, the two of us stood and redressed before walking back to the villa together. Spencer kept his arm wrapped around me to entire walk and the proximity to him was making my head feel dizzy. I desperately wanted to talk about what was going on between us, but the stillness that surrounded us was hard to break. The moment was so perfect that I couldn’t break it, no matter how much I wanted him to tell me he was serious about us. Instead, I enjoyed that one perfect moment and didn’t let all the complications ruin it. Spencer and I, for that one night, were free and happy and it was glorious.

The next morning, I woke up smiling and feeling more satisfied than I had in a long time. If Mom noticed, she didn’t say anything while we ate breakfast in the luxurious restaurant at the heart of the resort. I picked at my avocado and toast while Jayden wolfed down his eggs like he hadn’t eaten in three weeks. All morning, I’d tried to avoid Spencer’s gaze, but at breakfast, he sat opposite me and it was just impossible. He looked happy and when his gray eyes caught mine, he sent me a smile that made my heart melt.

I looked away and took a sip of my americano, but under the table, my foot brushed against his and I panicked. I slammed my mug down on the table and spluttered, almost choking on my coffee.

“Rylee, are you alright?” Mom asked, her eyes narrowed in concern.

“I’m… I’m fine,” I replied as I wiped my mouth with a napkin. “Coffee just went down the wrong hole is all.”

“Well, careful, honey,” she said before tucking into her cornflakes again.

I carefully avoided looking at Spencer for the rest of breakfast after that. In fact, I didn’t look at him again until we were walking through the hallway afterward and something awful happened. A beautiful, curvy older woman was heading our way. I didn’t take much notice of her at first, but it was impossible to ignore how attractive she was. She had dark chestnut-colored hair that was tousled perfectly and cascaded past her shoulders to rest on her large breasts. Her eyes were dark too, almost black, and they were accentuated by thick black eyeliner and mascara that made her lashes look huge. She was wearing a tight lilac dress that hugged her curves as she walked seductively toward us.

At first, I’d only had a fleeting thought of jealousy at seeing her stunning appearance, but that all changed when she beelined toward Spencer. Her perfectly manicured fingers reached out and grabbed hold of his wrist, pulling him away from the rest of us. I frowned. What did she want with Spencer? Was she an old girlfriend of his? My heart sunk in my chest, but I couldn’t look away.

“Excuse me, I’m sorry to bother you, but are you Spencer Reid, the Boise billionaire?” she asked in a sultry voice while her free hand played with her hair.

Spencer laughed. “I can’t say I’ve ever been called that before, but yeah, I guess I am. I’m Spencer Reid.”

“I thought so!” the stranger cried with a bright, beaming smile. “My name’s Alexa Gilroy, you might have heard of me. My family owns a huge chain of hotels throughout the US. I only found out you were here because I tried to book the biggest villa in the resort like I usually do when I come here and for the first time ever, they told me it was already booked!”

Spencer smiled politely. “My apologies, I can see why you like it so much. It’s a beautiful villa.”

“It’s no problem at all, cutie,” she replied, her hand lingering on Spencer’s bicep. “Oh, I’m sorry, I never introduced myself to your family.” She turned to Mom. “Are you Mrs. Reid?”
