“Ant,” she added.
“Ant… What are you doing here Ant?”
“I work here. My dad owns this place.”
“You’re kidding.”
“Nope.”
Romeo let out a long sigh.
“What?”
“My dad owns Monty’s. I work there.”
“You’re kidding.
“I wish I were,” he said, gesturing over to the counter where Marco and Tyler were now pushing and shoving each other. Their actions peppered with insults and curses, threats and taunts. The fight escalating in aggressiveness every minute.
“I’m gonna mess you up!”
“Yeah? Come on!”
Nikki came out of the kitchen and took a seat at a nearby table. She crossed her legs and sipped a soda like she was watching a ball game. A spectator with a front row seat.
Mrs Cap, who was having no luck calming things down, didn’t like that one bit. “Aren’t you going to do anything to stop this?!”
“Me?” Nikki snapped back. “What would you like me to do?”
Then Patrick hopped off his stool and took a walk around the corner of the building to get a better look. Not at the fight, but at Ant, who was still standing shoulder to shoulder with Romeo, taking it all in.
“Screw you,” yelled Tyler .
“Really, that’s all you got?”
“Oh, I got a lot more than that,” he said as he got even more up in Marco’s business. They were toe to toe, face to face, nose to nose, as angry uncontrolled spittle flew back and forth between them.
“Who is that guy?” asked Ant.
“Oh him. That’s my best friend.”
“Really?”
“Uh… Yup.”
Then Cap showed up. He rushed over and pulled the two of them apart. Immediately starting in on Tyler. “What the hell is going on here?!! Are you out of your mind?!”
“What?”
“What do you mean what? I leave here for twenty minutes and all hell breaks loose. What’s going on?”
“He started it.”
“Started what?”
“The fight.”
Cap was ready to lose his mind. “Why are you having a fight in the middle of a work night? In the middle of my restaurant? What is wrong with you? I can’t trust you to watch the place for twenty minutes?”
