Next he tried Facebook. He searched and found a dozen or so women with the same name, or at least a close variation. He clicked one after the other. He found an old Italian grandma living in Tuluca Lake, a hot-to-trot divorcee cocktail waitressing in Vegas, and a tween with braces cheerleading in Staten Island, but he didn’t find her.

He looked up from his phone and gave the issue some thought. Then he tried Ant, but that spit out more names and faces than he could probably ever go through. So he tried Ant Cap, but that didn’t get him anywhere either. He was about to give up when he noticed that the letters in Ant Cap could be rearranged to make a couple other words. Not really believing it would lead anywhere, but with no other ideas left he tried Cat Nap. And what came up on the very first line was her.

Her Facebook name was Cat Nap. He couldn’t believe it. He'd never thought himself much of a sleuth, but this was some pretty impressive detective work if he did think so himself. Maybe this is what those super cyber hackers feel like when they crack the big code and slip undetected into the proverbial, government main frame.

So now what?

He supposed he ought to contact her.

So he did.

Ant had left shortly after the altercation. She had watched Romeo and his friends disappear into the night only to turn and find her dad glaring at her. She knew that look. She’d seen it a thousand times. He beckoned her over and she reluctantly obliged.

“You want to tell me what all that was about?”

“All what?”

“You know perfectly well what.”

“Nope. Can’t say that I do.” She wasn’t going to make this easy for him.

“What was with you and that boy?”

“We were just talking.”

“About what?”

“Physics.”

“Looked like more than just talking to me. You know who he is right? He’s one of those Monty’s people.”

“Really? He didn’t say.”

“Who started it?”

“What?”

“The fight?”

“I don’t know. I was busy working. I’ve been working all day.”

“Was it them? ”

“I told you I don’t know.”

“I want you to stay away from those guys.”

“Which guys?”

“Those Monty’s guys. They’re trouble. Nothing but trouble.”

“You think it was all them and not Tyler?”

“Did Tyler start it?”

“What difference does it make who started it. It’s over. Look, I’m tired. I think I’m going to punch out and head home.”
