Then I saw Jaz. She was holding baby Jonah, and I thought my heart would burst. I had left them together back at the house while we ate. Seeing him there in this moment was overwhelming, and I turned to Kane.
“I’m pregnant,” I blurted out.
“What?” he asked, his eyebrow creasing up and his mouth hanging open in surprise.
“I’m pregnant,” I repeated. “We’re pregnant!”
There was an explosion of cheers, and Kane pulled me into him for a tight embrace.
“We’re going to be a family,” he said. “All four of us. I want to adopt Jonah. Officially.”
I nodded, tears of joy streaming down my face. We embraced with another deep kiss as our family surrounded us, cheering and clapping Kane on the back. When we finally broke our hug, I turned to grab my sister around the neck and kiss baby Jonah on the head. We were all going to be one big happy family.
