“Oh my. I just want to take you home with me. Huh? Can I take you home with me, juicy man? You are toooo adorable. Mommy and daddy, you are blessed,” I said to the parents of my newest patient, baby Braxton.

He was only two weeks old but was growing by the second. His mom let me know not too long ago that he hogs up all the breast milk any chance he gets. I was around children all the time because of my profession, but it was just something about being around these newborns that had my baby fever through the roof. It made me want to go ahead and find a husband so I could give him so many babies.

This little boy was in my arms, looking up at me with those doe shaped eyes, and he was hanging onto every word that I was saying to him. He had a mean hold on my finger too. I’d already checked his vitals and everything, and he was good to go, but I was holding him hostage.

His parents sat not too far from me, and I could see all the admiration in their eyes for their son. It was February, Valentine’s Day to be exact, so the weather in Miami was just a bit cool. They had little man dressed in a gray sweatsuit with a pair of white Air Force Ones on his feet. I just couldn’t handle all the cuteness that was coming from him. He had beautiful, jet black curls, and as I talked to him, he had the nerve to be looking at me, like he knew what I was saying.

I knew that I needed to go ahead and give him back to his parents because, in a second, I was going to say that I wanted one of my own.

“You need to go ahead and have one, Dr. Davidson. I see the baby fever written all over your face,” the mom said as I handed her back her baby.

The mom’s name was Sydney. She had a two-year-old daughter, who was also my client, but it wasn’t her check-up today, so she hadn’t come into the office with them. I went over to the sink and washed my hands, then dried them off with some paper towels.

“With the number of babies that I see every day, I feel like I have kids already,” I said, followed by a laugh.

I stood off to the side with my arms crossed, watching as they put baby Braxton into his car seat. In just a matter of minutes, he was already trying to close his eyes and get a little nap in. I had never been this thirsty over a baby before, which is why I was lowkey ready for them to head out. For a moment, I thought about how I would be as a mother. Parents told me all time how good I would be with my own kid, but a responsibility as big as having a child, I knew it just had to be with the right person.

Baby Braxton was my last client before lunch. I was going to just shoot across the street and get a salad, then I would come back once I took my hour. I’m not even going to lie; I was a little bit in my feelings that Billionaire didn’t even bother to text or call me this morning to say happy Valentine’s Day. He acted like he was so into me, and he made it seem like he wanted to be in a relationship with me so bad, but then he pulls something like this. This is the reason why I protected my heart so fiercely.

Knowing him, he was probably on a date with another woman. It was either that, or he was mad that I didn’t pick up his Facetime call last night. For one, I didn’t expect him to call so late, so I was wrapping up one of my writing sessions. Once I finished, I had every intention of going to bed because I knew how early I had to be up this morning.

I could use those excuses because they sounded good, but I think I didn’t answer the phone for him because yesterday afternoon, when he and I had a Facetime call, he started speaking on sexual things that he would do to my body, and I actually enjoyed hearing those things. It was because of him that these days, I was allowing sexual thoughts to fill my mind. I could only imagine the things that he would have said to me last night over the phone, so I played it smart when I chose not to answer.

“You three enjoy your Valentine’s Day. See you back in three weeks,” I said to Sydney and her husband.

They wished me the same and left.

I stayed in the room for a few seconds, and then I left, closing the door behind me. The second I got into the hallway, I noticed that there was a commotion going on in the lobby. Mainly, I saw a lot of the nurses standing around, and I heard a bunch of “awws.” From where I was standing, all I could see was a person holding all kinds of Valentine’s Day gifts in their hands.

I saw a huge teddy bear that was bigger than me. There were beautiful red, white, and pink roses, a huge assortment basket that had all types of stuff in it was on the floor, and balloons. The person was even carrying three big Gucci shopping bags. I sighed, thinking to myself that whoever was the recipient of all that stuff was truly loved.

For years, my Valentine’s Day had always been spent at home with me just ordering take-out or something. Each year, I c

ame to work and watched as the nurses were showered with gifts all day. My daddy would usually send flowers to the office, which would be waiting for me on my desk by the time I made it to work, but I assumed that he’d forgotten to do it this year.

“Dr. Davidson. Lady, where are you going? That fine piece of man has been standing in the lobby for the past five minutes, asking for you. Girlllll, I would kill to be you right now,” one of the nurses, whose name was Jackie, came over to me and said.

She was damn near dragging me to the lobby area of the doctor’s office. I could feel myself shaking as I neared the figure, and I thought that Jackie was playing a cruel joke on me. But when the figure eventually turned around, I smiled because it was Billionaire standing there, holding all those gifts in his hands, like it was my birthday. I froze right in my spot, and my hands went over my mouth because I was in such shock.

On the phone, he acted like he came from out of space and had never even heard of Valentine’s Day. I wasn’t even expecting a card from him because when I brought Valentine’s Day up, he seemed so uninterested. I guess he had to do that to keep it a surprise. Billionaire looked so handsome right now, dressed in his all-white. He wore a white, long sleeved Polo dress shirt with a couple of the buttons undone, so everyone in the lobby was blessed to see his chest. I wasn’t surprised that he was sagging in his white, Levi jeans and showing off his white Louis Vuitton belt. White, low top Louis Vuitton sneakers were on his feet, and he smelled so good. I wasn’t even that close to him, and I could smell him.

The chain around his neck with the word, Billion, was blinding us all. His waves looked just as good as they did any other day. That beard he loved to tickle me with every time we kissed was nice and full. The fact that I knew Billionaire was so rough around the edges, yet he came in there bearing all of those gifts for me like he was Santa Claus, just made him look more appealing than he ever had before. It was the fact that he even took the time out of his day to do this for me because I knew how busy he often was.

Here I was, prepared to delete his number from my phone and possibly block him after not receiving a Valentine’s Day text or phone call from him this morning. You would have thought that he was getting ready to propose to me because people had their phones out and were recording this moment. I knew so many of the ladies around the office were shocked about what was taking place.

It was no secret that I didn’t have a man. Everyone in that office had tried to tell me about a male cousin, brother, or friend that they had for me to hook up with. No matter what, I always turned them down. Women in there had actually witnessed single male fathers come into the office and try to take me on a date, but I would always turn them down. Not only were they shocked about what was unfolding, but I was pretty sure that they were even more shocked about my taste in men.

It was no secret that I was heavily involved in my father’s church or that I wrote Christian children’s books, so they probably saw me with a man… hmm, let’s just say quite different from Billionaire.

“You scared? Come here,” was the first thing he said to me.

With a silly, goofy smile on my face, I walked over to him. As private as I was… as much as I didn’t like to involve people in my business, especially when it came to my personal life, nothing was going to stop me from wrapping my arms around his neck, standing on my tippy toes, and kissing him on his lips. Our kiss held so much passion that I literally could no longer deny the fact that Billionaire and I shared something. It was the way my stomach felt like it was in knots as we kissed each other with so much heat.

I the midst of all the “awws” and applause, leave it to Billionaire to take it up another level and squeeze my booty. When I pulled away, I didn’t even realize that I was crying. My tears are what made everyone get back to business and doing their work. They left me with him, so I could have my moment with the man who had made me an emotional wreck in the first place.

“What you crying for?” he asked, wiping the tears that were flowing from my eyes.

I laughed through my tears and then shrugged.
