“A yes to what exactly?”
“I’ll help you run your business, silly.”
“And marriage?”
“Well, I have to do that.”
“Oh yeah,” he grinned at her. “Your dad.”
He leaned down to kiss her shoulder. She shivered against him.
“Do you really love me, Jack?”
He looked back into her eyes.
“I’m as mystified about it as you are.”
“It’s not just lust?”
“No. But there’s definitely lust too.”
“And you’re okay with the fact I don’t love you?”
“Oh, Davy,” Jack said just before he bit her shoulder and heard her groan. “You’re only fooling yourself.”
Jack lowered the zip of her dress and felt it fall.
“What are you doing?” Davina said. “We’re talking.”
“I’m finished talking.” Jack helped the dress fall around Davina’s toes. “I know you keep forgetting, but it’s Tuesday.” He teased her full bottom lip. “It’s inspection day. And I know exactly what I want to inspect.”
He ran his tongue down her neck.
It was going to be a long and thorough inspection.
