It smelled…good.

My stomach actually rumbled.

I took the stairs down to the main level and walked into the kitchen. Luke was at the counter with his back turned, fixing some food. I went up behind him and slipped my arms around his waist, pressing up against him.

"I feel good," I said softly.

He put down the knife he was using to butter some toast and turned around, his hands brushing my hair back. "I'm so glad for you. You've been through hell."

"I have," I said, and tears filled my eyes. "Thank you for being so understanding through it all."

He kissed me tenderly, and then pulled me into his embrace and held me tightly, his hands moving over my shoulders and back.

"Isn't it almost time for you to have an ultrasound to check on the baby?"

I nodded. My gynecologist said it was up to me whether I wanted an ultrasound at eight to ten weeks to date the baby, but I didn't want one so early. Besides, I knew exactly how old it was based on when we had sex that time without a condom. I decided to wait until eighteen weeks to have one and find out at that time whether we were having a boy or girl.

"We could have one before we go on our honeymoon," I said. "That way, we'd know what we're having and could celebrate."

"We could pick out names," Luke said. "I was thinking that if it's a girl, we could name it after our mothers, for her two middle names. The same for a boy. Name him after our fathers. We could choose a unique first name, depending on what you like.”

"What were you thinking?" I asked, curious about his preferences.

"Thor or Ragnar, if it's a boy," Luke said and I punched him playfully on the shoulder. He'd been heavily into re-watching Vikings and was enamored with all things

Norse.

"Be serious."

"I am serious," he said with a laugh. "Can't you just imagine our little boy walking on the playground and some friend calls out, Hey, Thor -- come and play!"

"Not gonna happen," I said and shook my head.

"Not Ragnar either?"

"Not Ragnar either," I said and adjusted his collar.

He mock-pouted. "Aww...Not Harald or Ivar?"

"Nope."

"You're so mean, crushing my dad-hopes like that. A son called Ragnar? Or Ivar?"

He smiled finally, and I knew he was joking.

Then, his face became serious once more. "Leif?"

I raised my eyebrows. "As in Leif Erickson?"

"Yes," Luke said. "It's Norse but not too out of the norm. People know the name. It would be cool. Come on -- admit it."

"I'll consider it," I said and narrowed my eyes.

He kissed me. "What about if it's a girl? What do you want?"

I shrugged. "Amelia, or Amy, or Emily."

"Those are all pretty," he said and pursed his lips. "Not Eira or Brenna? You know, keeping with the theme?"
