He moves closer, smoothing his hands from my shoulders down to my hips. My body responds with a shiver when I feel his manhood pressing against my stomach.

“Tell. Me.”

“I’m a virgin.”

I push the words out quickly, forcing them past the desire to clench my teeth, to swallow them so I don’t have to think about his reaction.

“You’re a…”

He trails off, tilting his head at me as the corners of his lips twitch.

“You’ve never had sex with anyone. You’ve never done anything with anyone?”

I shake my head. “You’re the first person I’ve even kissed.”

“Fuck,” he growls.

“See?” I yell, disentangling myself and stalking across the gym. “You’re disappointed.”

Fuck.

The way he said it, all the gruffness in his voice, tells me everything I need to know about his opinion of my revelation. It makes me want to run, but then his hands are on me again, grabbing my shoulders and spinning me toward him.

“Stop being such a brat.”

“A brat? Did you seriously just call me—”

I break off in a moan when his lips crash against mine, as he pushes firmly against me and our mouths open in carnal union. He slides his hands down to my ass and massages it as our tongues move together, as a warm sensation dances up and down my legs, a wonderful heat spreading in my core.

He kisses me even harder, driving me across the room, pushing me softly against the wall. It’s like something’s snapped inside of him, as though he can’t hold himself back anymore.

I gasp as his hand slides up my thigh, but then he steps back, shaking his head with a deep chuckle.

“You drive me so fucking crazy, Rosie. Did you really think this would make me want you any less?”

“What?” I whimper. “You still want to… But I can’t just have sex, Ryker, not right away. Not here. Not like you wanted me to last time.”

“Rosie, I want you. I need…”

He trails off, clenching his jaw against his words. The light glimmers off his silver streaked hair and his eyes swirl with something unreadable, as though there’s an unspoken vow contained inside of him.

“Need what?” I urge.

“Need you,” he snarls. “I don’t give a damn if you’re a virgin. You’re beautiful. You’re funny. You’re cute as hell. You’re the sexiest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

His words swirl around me, heating every inch of my body, inside and out. Even as I tell myself to be careful, my body responds to the snarling confidence in his voice, willing me to believe his words.

“But you train the most beautiful people in the world,” I whisper. “How can you say—”

“I’m not interested in them,” he interrupts sternly. “I don’t want anyone else. I want you. Only you.”

He pauses and then asks, “Rosie, are you single?”

The question catches me off guard and a laugh escapes me. “Um, I just told you you’re the first person I’ve ever kissed…”

He runs a hand through his hair, grinning. “You’ve got my head all fucked up. Of course, you’re single.”

“And you?” I ask, repressing the quiver in my voice.

Or trying to.

“Yeah, I’m single.”

He walks over to me and takes my face in his hands, his touch surprisingly gentle after the captivating way he just ground his hands into my ass.

“I’m taking you on a date,” he says. “I can’t believe that’s the reason you ran. Because you’re a virgin. It doesn’t make me want you any less, only more. If that's possible.”

I reach up and touch his hand, willing myself to believe this is real. He means what he says. Even if it makes no sense, even if he has thousands of other options.

“I thought it might be my age,” he says. “Or maybe you had a boyfriend. I’ve been driving myself crazy over it.”

“Your age?” I laugh, the release feeling so freaking good after a whole week of pent-up anxiety. “Why the heck would I care about that?”

When he laughs, I can feel the reverberation move through his hands and across my cheeks, making other parts of me tremble.

“That’s not a ridiculous concern. There are lots of people who think twenty years old is too young for a man of my age.”

“But you're only forty-three,” I murmur.

He smooths his hands down my waist, letting out another laugh. Each one feels like a promise of the future.

He wants me even more now that I’m a virgin. It blows my freaking mind.

“Somebody’s been doing some internet sleuthing,” he teases lightly.

I giggle. “Yeah, maybe a little. But honestly, I don’t give a single damn about our age gap, Ryker. That didn’t even occur to me. If anything, I prefer it.”

“What do you mean?” he asks.

I smooth my hands around his hard stomach, clawing onto his back, stunned at how natural this feels… and yet there’s a part of me that isn’t surprised at all. There’s a part of me that screams I’ve been waiting my whole life to feel my man’s solid body against mine.
