His hand slides alluringly up my leg, his lips twisted as though he’s not purposefully guiding the movement. It’s like some deep force inside of him is causing him to slide his hand up higher and higher, but then I reach down and place my hand atop his, stopping him even if it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

“Ryker.”

“I know.” He laughs grimly. “You just make me so wild.”

I lean back and fold my arms, aiming a pout at him.

He sighs with a nod. “Just remember I warned you this was going to sound crazy.”

I wait for him to explain, my heart thumping heavily in my chest, pounding as I try to convince myself this is real.

It’s happening. I’m not dreaming it.

“The first time I saw you, saw your picture, I knew I had to have you,” he growls. “I couldn’t explain it. I mean, hell. You were – are – beautiful and curvy and so damn attractive. Getting to know you, I see that you’re attractive inside and out. But I still couldn’t explain it. Just a picture and there was all this…”

“This need,” I finish for him.

It’s like he’s describing my own feelings back to me.

I cough back a sob, hoping he doesn’t notice. I don’t want to do anything to spoil the tender fragility of this moment.

“Yes,” he says passionately. “But it wasn’t just a need to be with you, Rosie. It was so much more than that.”

He swallows, glances at the parking lot then back at me.

“Go on. Tell me. I promise I won’t freak out.”

“It was a need to have a family with you, a future,” he snarls. “I felt it right away, instantly. I felt it with more passion than I’ve ever felt anything in my life. It was – it is – like there’s this feeling inside of me, this animal, and it’s roaring at me every damn second to fuck you, to put a baby in you, to make you mine. Mine. Just mine. Forever.”

I can’t help it. His words poke at a thousand emotions inside of me, rising up to the surface, causing me to burst into tears. I collapse against him, burying my face in his chest, crying into the safety of his embrace.

But I can’t stop, not when my womb sends flurrying signals around my body, warm, like a fire after a long walk in the cold. I feel like I’m coming home.

To my man, my family, my future.

“Rosie.” His hands are in my hair, stroking softly. “Are these happy tears or sad tears?”

“Happy,” I whimper, staring up at him, his features made hazy with all the pesky water in my eyes. “I can’t believe you’re saying this. Because, oh, Ryker… I feel the same. I’ve felt the same this whole freaking time.”

“What?”

He gasps, his intense eyes going wide.

“Yes. The second I saw you, I wanted you. I felt all these crazy feelings inside of me. It’s like my body is telling me to be with you. It’s like there’s a force inside of me like you said, and it’s screaming at me to have a family with you. To have your babies. Do you really feel the same?”

“Yes,” he growls, leaning close, bringing his lips to mine so they whisper against mine. “But you’re just mine, only mine. You belong to me. Do you understand what that means? It means you’re never going to kiss another man, never going to look at another man. It means, for the rest of our lives, you are my goddamn woman.”

My skin tingles and my cheeks grow warm as his breath whispers over me.

“And if another man ever tries to hurt you, tries to take you from me, I won’t be held responsible for what I do. It’s me and you, Rosie. Me and you.”

“Forever,” I whisper. “I want that. I want all of it. I want to be yours.”

“We’re crazy, aren’t we?” he says, with a smile I’ve seen from him yet. Not a grin or his usual smirk.

“I think so, yeah.” I giggle. “But I don’t really care.”

He nods fiercely. “Neither do I.”

His lips collide with mine, his mouth molding to mine as our tongues fuse together. It’s a different sort of kiss this time, with no nervousness, no desire to hold back, as though the insane compulsions inside of us have finally been set free.

I gasp and slide my hands up his arms, squeezing onto his shoulders, digging my fingernails into his unrelenting muscles.

He groans as he breaks off the kiss. “Tell me you want it. Tell me you want all of it.”

“I do,” I whimper. “Everything.”

“A family,” he snarls. “To give that young virgin body to me, and only me, forever.”

“I want your babies,” I whisper, as more tears threaten to sting my eyes. “I want a future together. I want everything you want, Ryker.”
