Chapter 75

SEAN AND KYLA WALKED INSIDE, dropped their bags, and stared out the large window overlooking the water. The view was incredible. They were finally here…paradise. They were also married and free to enjoy themselves. Sean felt he should explain to Peter why they no longer needed the other bungalow. He also offered to pay for their stay because now it was their honeymoon. Peter wouldn’t hear of it. He said what better way to figure out how to design the honeymoon bungalows than by having honeymooners giving feedback.

Sean walked over and read the note on the large fruit and cheese basket on the dining table. “Ky, Peter said to enjoy ourselves and he’ll meet with us next week.”

She looked around the room absorbing the space. Sean walked up behind her, wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. “What are you thinking?”

She turned to face him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I’m thinking a bed with a high padded headboard and lots of pillows would be amazing on that wall facing the window. Imagine waking up to that view?”

“I know a better view I like waking up to.” He kissed her.

“And a double chaise would be perfect in that corner.”

“No loveseat?”

“Nope. Honeymooners like options.”

“Really?”

“Uh-huh and soft light. Every woman looks good in soft light.”

“Anything else?” he asked followed by another kiss.

“A large soaking tub.”

“We just got here and you’ve already redone the space.”

“I don’t want you to regret recommending me for this job.”

“Babe, you are very talented and I know you’re going to do an amazing job.” He kissed her again. “However, I think we need to try out that mattress, because there are quite a few couples relying on our recommendation.”

“Really?” She smiled.

“Uh-huh.” He picked her up and plopped her down onto the bed.

Sean was doing everything he could think of to make Kyla feel special. While she was at the spa, he asked Peter to send some guys up from engineering to help him rearrange the room to Kyla’s suggestions. When she returned, the bed had been moved to face the large window looking at the water. He asked housekeeping to send up some extra pillows and he managed to get a few candles.

They sat up in bed, staring out the window. Kyla was snug at Sean’s side watching the sun set. “That view really is amazing. I can’t believe you moved the bed.”

“I had to, after seeing how beautiful you looked standing in front of the window with the moonlight framing you.”

She kissed the inside of his hand. “Your hands are like your lips, strong and soft.” She gently kissed each finger. “I used to fantasize about your hands…how they would feel moving along my body,” she confessed. “Then, when we started getting serious, I didn’t want you to touch me.”

“What was all that talk about wanting me to kiss you?”

“Kissing me is one thing, touching me was something all together different. Before we…when we were just friends and you would hold my hand, that meant more to me than…there wasn’t anyone in my life that just wanted to hold my hand and that meant a lot to me.”

“I didn’t know that.”

“Now you do. I know it sounds corny, but I like sitting on the sofa with you, Simon and Winnie, watching TV or talking. I remember sneaking downstairs and watching my parents sitting in the family room snuggled up on the sofa talking. Corianne thought it was sweet, and I thought it was boring.” She pressed herself further into Sean’s side. “But, now I see that that’s one of the best things about being married…just sitting and talking.”

“Francesca and I started out like that and then things changed.”

“I never had that. I think that’s why I liked spending time with you.”

“Here I thought it was my great sense of humor or Simon that kept you coming around.

“It was definitely Simon.”
