“Have you looked in the mirror?” I asked.

“Have you? You look like shit.”

“Your hickey. It looks like someone strangled you.”

“Maybe someone did,” she said, winking.

“Your sex life is going to kill you one day.”

“But it was such good sex.”

“Did he come back here?”

“Nope. We got a hotel room last night after we left the party. He’s got some fun toys. I hope he uses my number in the future.”

“Well, I’m going to attempt to make coffee. Can you attempt to make food?” I asked.

“Only if you talk about why you have a hickey on your neck.”

I slapped my hand against my neck and felt the raised spot. Bianca laughed behind me as she opened the refrigerator door and began to pull out an assortment of things. I fumbled with the coffee pot until I finally got it brewing the black goodness I needed to wake myself up.

I felt Bianca’s eyes on me the entire time until I sat down beside her at our small dining room table.

“Okay. Spill.”

“No, no. I want to hear about this man first. I’ll tell you, but I want to hear yours first.”

“Well, it didn’t take me long. He practically had his eye on me the second I walked through the door,” she said.

“Did he like your Spanx?”

“Actually, he hated them. He cut them off me with a pair of scissors.”

“He what!?”

“I was already tied up! What do you want me to say?”

“You’re really into some freaky shit, you know that?”

“But he was so perfect. He pressed a couple boundaries, but at my permission. And when I didn’t like them, I threw the safe word and he backed off immediately.”

“That’s a start. Okay. What about the whole… after thing?”

“You mean after care?”

“Yeah. That. I remember the last guy. His version of that thing was leaving you in the dust.”

“Not this guy. He ran us a bath and we sat in it and talked,” she said, smiling.

“Oh, look at that smile! My best friend’s in love. My best friend’s in love.”

“Drink your coffee and cut that shit out. I’m not in love. But, he did seem interested in a second round. So, I gave him my number before we parted ways and I’m hoping he uses it. Now it’s your turn. And no, you’re not getting out of it.”

I took my time sipping on my coffee, keeping Bianca on the edge of her seat. I knew I was pissing her off, but I didn't care. I was happy for her. For all the confidence Bianca talked, she didn’t have a lot of confidence in her physical appeal toward men. It made me happy that she found someone at that party. The confident glow in her features was something I hadn’t seen in her eyes in a long time.

“Do you want the punchline or the build up?” I asked.

“Build up. I always love a good shock factor.”
