“Good. Then let’s celebrate today’s success properly.”

“Properly?”

I smirked. “Yes. As in ‘Let’s get a fucking room’ properly.”

Shit. Why couldn’t I just deny him?

Oh yeah because he was hotter than a Greek God. I was still a little shaken up that Grant had hired an investigator to follow me around, but considering the scope of our project, I knew it had been the right move. Besides, I should be grateful that he’d given me a chance to prove myself and work for him. Yes, I was scared and that person following me around freaked me out, but Grant had already explained himself, and I believed him. Besides it sounded like it was a company decision, maybe he was overruled.

On the other hand, I also made a mistake for not trusting him. I shouldn’t have followed Lauren’s advice blindly. I should have talked with Grant first.

Everything had become a little clearer since we had aired our dirty laundry. Grand had made me feel so much, and we had spent days together, getting to know each other gradually. All of that mattered, and I felt guilty for not thinking better of him. He wasn’t that kind of man—ruthless and inconsiderate of others—so it wasn’t okay of me not to trust him.

Besides, he was so hot and charming, and I couldn’t really be without him. Even though we’d just met recently, I was already addicted to him.

We both had had walls to break down, but now I was so glad that we managed to talk it through.

Thankfully, I’d decided to come for the meeting. If I hadn’t, maybe the things wouldn’t have turned out so well in the end and that would have been entirely my fault.

I smiled wildly at Grant, desperate to feel him inside of me. “And how or where do you want us to celebrate properly?”

“We will get a hotel room here.”

My eyes widened and my heart began beating faster. “Here?”

“Yes.”

His suggestion surprised me, because I’d never been the one to do this kind of thing—but hell, Grant and I did a lot of things I wouldn’t have done before. And so far it had all be worth it.

I still couldn’t hide my hesitation. “B-but...”

“No buts, Madison. We will get a hotel room, because I will have you as soon as possible. Let’s go.”

His eyes filled with the raw desire burned into mine, making me feel even weaker. He took me by hand and led me out of the restaurant.

The restaurant itself was a luxurious place, expensively furnished and servicing clients whose bank accounts were loaded with money, but the rest of the hotel was even more magnificent and breathtaking. Everywhere my eyes fell—the marble floors, the marble columns, the large floor-to-ceiling windows or the gold chandeliers and reception desk—everything was dazzling beautiful and I was awestruck.

“Are you sure this place isn’t too expensive?” I muttered to him, feeling a bit out of place here.

He chuckled. “Don’t worry, baby. It’s nothing that my wallet won’t survive.”

He squeezed my hand and led me to the reception area, making an arrangement for our room.

He took the penthouse, and my stomach somersaulted in excitement. The dirty images of everything we could do on its king bed popped in my mind, and now my pussy was throbbing.

“I want champagne and strawberries sent up.”

“Of course, sir,” the male receptionist clerk answered him politely.

He ordered champagne and strawberries? Oh my.

A minute later we headed toward the glass elevators on the other side of the lobby.

“You have no idea what kind of things I want to do to you right now, but I can’t because this damn elevator is made of glass,” he told me after we entered one of the elevators and headed for the 20th floor, where our suite was.
