My climax rushes forward as I come in long bursts of pleasure while Dahlia continues to ripple and shudder beneath me. Her core clenches so tightly and sucks every last drop of release from me.

Panting, I drop my forehead to her shoulder, trying to catch my breath. Small spasms rock her core as I slowly withdraw and drop to my back beside her.

I feel her fingers on my arm and when she reaches my hand, our fingers intertwine briefly before Dahlia moves and cuddles into my side. Her head rests on my chest as my arm goes around her shoulders.

“I love you,” I say, placing a kiss to her forehead and keeping my lips pressed against her smooth skin.

Her hand slides into the hair on my chest, which I capture with mine. As much as I want to stay in bed with my wife for the rest of the afternoon, we can’t.

“I love you, Ryder. You’ve given me everything I had no idea that I craved until I met you.” She kisses my chest. “You’re my everything, baby.” Dahlia raises her leg and lets it rest over mine.

My life is complete in many ways that I never dreamed would be possible. Now Dahlia and our girls are everything, and I wouldn’t change anything for the world. Everything I do, I do for them. They’re my heart. But I have no words for the powerful love that I have for the woman in my arms.

Dahlia

“This snow is coming down kinda heavy.” I state the obvious as Ryder pulls the truck into the lot of Kix.

The forecasters said it was on the way, but they said it would be a light flutter. It certainly doesn’t look like a light flutter.

“At least the girls are warm at Cindy’s place. No need to worry about them if we get stuck here for a while.”

I try to see out of the windshield but the snow has covered it now that Ryder has pulled the key from the ignition. “Hmm, I’m kinda worried about this. We haven’t had snow this heavy in years.” I chuckle. “At least Thalia will be happy with this.”

Ryder’s eyes light with amusement. “She will. Jack has his hands full.”

I roll my eyes. “Jack loves his family and will do anything for them, just like you.”

Ryder reaches out and cups one side of my face. “You got that right.” He kisses me.

“I want you again,” I whisper against his lips.

Smirking, he chants, “Dahlia, Dahlia,” before pulling the hood on his jacket up, and climbs out. “Stay put. I’m coming around to get you.”

Seconds later, my door opens and Ryder meets my gaze, my frown matching his. “I don’t think anyone should be out tonight.”

He grabs me around the waist as I start to get out of the truck. My feet drop into the snow, making me glad that I wore my fur-lined boots. I smile up at my husband and reaching up, brush the snow from his eyelashes.

“Let’s get inside.” Ryder slams the door behind us, and keeping his arm around my waist, dashes me inside. It isn’t easy either with the ground slippery under foot.

Once on the porch we bang our feet to get rid of the snow and then we enter the warmth of Kix. It hasn’t changed much over the years and it’s still Ryder’s pride and joy, after the girls and me. It’s a solid business and although he’s reduced the days, the bar flourishes. Later tonight the place would normally be standing room only, except I think the weather is going to keep a lot of people home.

Seeing the weather though has me worried because Christmas Eve is in a few days, and the day of the concert.

I’m so proud of my brother and his friends for stepping in to help raise money for the children’s home. Savannah used to work there, but she’s always stayed in touch with the staff who told her that they were scheduled to close after the holidays—the idea of having a concert at Kix soon took off.

With ticket sales and donations it looks like they may have an extra six months, but hopefully on the night of the concert more donations will come in, taking the worry of closure off the table. We all hope so.

Looking around, Ryder takes my hand and tugs me through the roadhouse and to his office. “You planning on having your wicked way with me in here?” I raise a brow as my gaze holds that of my husband’s. “Because I wouldn’t object.”

Ryder watches me as I slowly unbutton my jacket, and let it slip from my arms. I turn and hang it up on the hook beside the door, and before I can turn back, I feel Ryder pressing into my back.

His pelvis aligns with my bottom, so I push back and rub back and forth against his erection. His hands go to my hips. “Before we leave tonight,” he whispers, “I’m going to have you just like this. With your jeans around your ankles while I take you.”

“Mmm.” I squirm against him, trying to ease the ache his words have caused.

He chuckles in my ear, sending goose bumps down my arms. “I know what I do to you”—he kisses the curve of my neck—“because you do the same to me.” His hands slip around to my stomach as he sighs. “I’m sorry, babe. I saw the rep for our main supplier as we walked through Kix. I need to talk to him so he can go on to his next call.”

I turn in his arms and reaching up, wind my arms around his neck, playing with the hair at his nape. “It’s okay. You go do what you need to, and I’ll go and talk to our friends.” I hug him and place a soft kiss to his lips. “I love you, Ryder.”
