“Am I doing the right thing, Sofia? Giving in?”

She grabs my hands. “You’re not giving in. Deep down you know that it will be easier getting it over with now, and it will also make the man you love happy. It’s a couple of hours out of your evening…and, I saw just the dress for you to wear in one of the stores on Newbury.” She grins. “Let’s go shopping.”

My breath catches in the back of my throat as I stare at Paige in front of me. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I can’t even find my voice because she really does look like a Princess. She twirls around, showing off the full skirt of her pale pink dress. It drops to just above her knees, showing off her amazing legs, and her delicate feet in the matching pale pink heels.

“Breathtaking,” I whisper, swallowing around the lump in my throat. “How am I going to keep my hands off of you?”

She offers me a small smile. “You look handsome. You’re wearing my favorite suit.”

“I need all the help I can get after walking out on you earlier. I figured I’d dress the best I could.” I wince and cross toward her. “I’m sorry, Paige.” I gently caress her face with a finger. “I’m going to be right there with you this time. Nothing will be said otherwise we’ll leave okay? I’m on your side now. I promise you that.” I kiss her on the forehead.

Until I saw her ready and waiting for me, I’d been tempted to call the whole thing off. The dinner wasn’t worth risking my relationship with Paige. Nothing is worth that. But seeing her ready, knowing that she’s doing this because it’s important to me, I don’t say anything.

“I’m really nervous, Seth.” Her eyes swim with tears as she tries to smile, failing miserably.

“Let’s just get it over with, and then we can both relax.” I slip my hand around her back and guide her out of the door and into the cab waiting outside.

The ride to the outskirts of town isn’t long, but it feels like a lifetime with how nervous Paige is, which is rubbing off on me. My nerves weren’t completely settled before, but they’re buzzing like a swarm of bees right now.

To di

stract myself, I focus on Paige’s foot before I let my eyes drift up the soft curve of her leg. Until tonight, I never thought a woman’s foot could be so sexy.

Paige fidgets in the seat, her legs pressing closer together as she gives me a hooded smirk. “If you carry on staring at me so intensely, I’m going to melt.” Her gaze drifts to my groin and widen at the noticeable bulge I’m not even attempting to hide.

I don’t even care that we’re in the back of a cab when I have her full attention. I lean forward, and whisper, “Your feet and legs are giving me a hard-on,” into her ear.

She brushes a caress down the side of my face with her lips as the cab comes to a stop. “You’ve made my panties wet, and taken my mind off who I’m about to see.” She nibbles my lobe, my cock jerking hard in response.

Breathing heavily, I hiss, “Stay in front of me when we get out.”

She giggles while I pay the cab fare, and then I usher her out with my hands firmly on her hips. I nuzzle into the nape of her neck. “I love you.” I nibble on her earlobe. “Please remember that, if nothing else.”

She trembles under my hands and I wish I can say it’s with lust, but unfortunately, I think it’s with nerves.

“I’m only doing this because it’s important to you. No other reason, Seth.”

Hearing the nervousness in her voice, I wrap her tightly in my arms. “I promise this will be different than last time.” I kiss her forehead, and notice my mother waiting impatiently by the front door. “We’ve been spotted.”

Taking her hand, I intertwine my fingers with Paige, making sure I have a firm grip so that nothing can part us. “Mother.” I inhale as I move toward her. “I’d like you to meet my girlfriend, Paige.”

“Please come in.” My mother glances behind and my sister is coming downstairs. “Amanda, don’t dawdle.”

Paige’s hand trembles in mine at the bark in my mother’s voice. I’m used to ignoring it.

Trailing behind my mother into the drawing room, she asks, “So Paige, I didn’t catch your surname, and my son has neglected that bit of information.”

Groaning, I roll my eyes, and squeeze Paige’s hand for support. “I didn’t give you her name so you couldn’t look her up.” I grin and pull Paige down beside me on the sofa.

“It’s okay, Seth…McKenzie. I’m Paige McKenzie.”

Mom frowns. “Should I know that name?”

Before she can respond a male voice interrupts.
