Rolling her eyes Paige laughs. “There is. Let me grab a sweater first. There can be a chill in the forest, with it all being shaded.”
She runs back inside and finally gives me the space I need to get my body under control. I’ve never been out of control before. Shaking my head to clear the lust, I cross to the back deck and leaning forward enjoy the quiet, and the view. It’s easy to see why Paige and her family love it here. There’s total silence and the sound of wildlife is so natural, you only notice when listening for it. The lush green valley that the house sits in is breathtaking.
“I’m ready.” Her hand slides up my back and rests on my shoulder, as her head dips.
I reach out and tug her close, enjoying standing with her at her home in the peace and quiet. This is what she needs and loves, and it worries me that Boston isn’t going to do it for Paige. No matter what she’s said, I know it’s going to be difficult for her to accept being in such a built up area.
“You are so easy to read,” she comments, wrapping both arms around my waist, her head on my chest. “I love it here Seth because it’s always been my home. I know I have a problem being around tons of people, but it’s something I can work on.”
“It’s something we’ll work on together. You’re not in this alone, Paige.” I kiss the top of her head. “And if you can’t manage it then we’ll go somewhere else. I don’t want you suffering because of me. No more. If you can’t manage being in Boston then we’ll find somewhere on the outskirts, or I could transfer down here for the last semester.”
She tilts her head. “You’d do that?”
“If it means the difference of us being apart or together, then I’ll do anything to make sure we’re together.”
She’s thoughtful. “Let’s go for our walk to the river, and then we’ll plan on going to Boston. You need to be back to talk to your advisor, and the earlier you do that the better. I’ll be fine there as long as you’re with me.”
I take her hand and lead her along the path she indicated to while thinking about how to manage us being together in the city. “You’d be okay in the apartment? Because you remember I share with Dylan and Jaxon, so that works right? You okay with that?”
“I’d get used to living with them and their teasing. I’m just not sure how they’d feel about me sharing a room with you.”
“They’ll get used to that as well because that is the only place you’re sleeping.”
Paige turns her face up to mine, a beautiful smile lighting her features. “We sleep together from now on. I know we’ll behave at my home but as soon as I get you alone, we’re getting naked and staying that way all night.”
Clearing my throat from the lust, I agree, “Okay.”
Giggling Paige runs ahead. “I thought you’d agree to that without any argument.”
“I’ll agree to anything if it means you’re going to get naked in front of me.”
