My own space is sacred to me, which is why I bought the property I did. I’d wanted out of the city as soon as I’d sold my company, much to my mother’s disgust. I’ve made enough money to not have to work for the rest of my life and I’d become bored with it. I loved a challenge but once completed I always became bored. So I sold. And have a home I share with my sister until she’s married; in a town I love...with a baker who has my body hot and aching with just the sound of her voice.

Cursing, I finally answer my mother’s call. “I hope this is important.”

“Of course it’s important. I’m calling about the wedding cake.”

Warning bells start going off in my head. “What about the cake?”

“Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to use a more established baker, instead of someone who isn’t that long out of college?”

My fists clench of their own free will while I try and keep my temper in check.

“Shane?”

“I’m still here mother. You know Sofia McKenzie is more than capable of providing a unique wedding cake. The choice has been made so I don’t want to hear any more talk about it.”

“But—”

“End of discussion.” I cut off the call.

Bringing my hand up to my face, I drag it down closing my eyes. I pinch at the bridge of my nose to will away the stress headache gathering.

I’m not sure how long I’ve been sitting here but a gentle tapping on the window draws my attention. To my surprise it’s Sofia with a concerned expression on her beautiful face. Her cheekbones have a slight blush and her brows are drawn tight.

I quickly open the door and catch Sofia’s light flowery scent. My thoughts scatter.

“I saw you were still out here so I wanted to check on you.” Her blush deepens.

Something unusual flutters in my chest at the obvious concern. I hold her gaze and smile while I think of something intelligent to say. Instead I tell her, “I’m frustrated because I want you wetting my cock...Fuck!”

“Um—”

“Shit! I’m sorry that wasn’t what I meant to say.” I wince. “I did mean it though.”

Clearing my throat, I add, “My mother called.”

Sofia smiles and everything rights in my world. “I totally understand that. Your sister had words with her the other day and told her to stop interfering with her wedding. I’m not sure your mother was really listening.” She sounds relieved for the change of subject.

I sigh. “No, she wasn’t.”

“She hasn’t offered to pay one cent toward her only daughter’s wedding.”

I caress over Sofia’s face with my eyes, wishing she were mine to pull into my arms and hold. Have her tell me that everything with my sister and her wedding will all work out fine.

My mother needs to take a step back, so I confess, “I don’t want or need one cent from her but how she can expect to have as much input as she want’s on the decision making is driving me crazy.”

“And Monica.”

I rest my head against the seat, and sigh heavily. “I’m so damn tired.”

Sofia chews on her bottom lip, her gaze flickering back and forth between the bakery and me. “Tell me what you’re thinking,” I ask slowly.

Her eyes hold mine and she swallows hard. “I’m not sure that would be a good idea.” She gives an embarrassed laugh.

My eyes light with amusement at her words. “Is that so?” Chuckling, I’m tempted to let her off the hook, tempted. “I think you need to climb in this SUV and let me take you home with me.” I lean closer. “I’m imagining you without any clothing, spread out on the top of my bed while I stand over you just admiring.” I brush a loose strand of hair away from her face. “I’ve had so many dreams of suckling at your breasts before I move lower and lick between your sensitive pussy lips.”

“You have to stop,” Sofia whispers, moving closer, when I think she meant to move away.

I slip my arm around her back as I slip out of the car, needing to feel her against me. She’s soft and warm against the hard plains of my body. Her small hands grasp my arms tightly as my larger ones grab her butt and haul her up and into my arms.
