“I’m sorry, but that isn’t possible.” He frowned with resignation. “You are both young, unmarried women, which means I’m not allowed to have you under my roof.”

They giggled. “Father, you can come to my place, and I certainly won’t mind having you under my roof.”

Dante closed his eyes and counted to ten while he felt his embarrassment creep up from his neck to his face. He had to be blunt. He frowned his best priestly scowl and said, “I’m a priest and dedicated my life, through vows, to God.” He pointed to the sky. “If you’re looking for a husband, then I suggest you take a trip to Denver.” He gave that a few seconds to sink in. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have more of God’s business to finish.” He paused. “Unless, of course, you both would like to follow me to the church and confess all your sins.”

He held himself in check although laughter bubbled up inside him.

They blanched at the suggestion like he knew they would. “We have something to do.” They backed away. “Sorry to have bothered you.”

With that, Dante closed the front door and turned to find Barbara loitering in the background, her eyes lit with amusement. “That needed to be done...and it was...amusing,” she chuckled.

He rolled his eyes and prayed it would be the end of that.

That hadn’t been the only time in his six years of the collar to be confronted by women, and usually he had the diplomacy to

put it at an end. Something had gotten lost over the past few months though, and he wasn’t sure he’d be able to find it again.

He leaned against the wooden door and stared into space while he tried to let his mind settle before he ended up with a migraine.

“Father?” Barbara whispered, a question in her voice.

He glanced up and realized she was concerned for him. “I’m fine, Barbara.”

“Are you a mind reader now, Father?”

“I’m sorry. What did you want to ask?” He followed her back into the kitchen and wondered how long it would be before she left for her own home.

He valued Barbara, but over the past couple of weeks, he’d felt more unsettled than he ever had before. He had no idea why. The business with Emelia had been ongoing for a long time, longer than he’d been a priest, so he wasn’t sure if that was unsettling him. All he knew was that he’d started to crave his own space, and had begun to resent it when others invaded it regardless of the reason why.

“You are a mind reader.” She piped some buttercream around the top of the muffins that she’d made in blue—his favorite color. “I’m worried about you. You don’t seem happy anymore. I mean, before the holidays, you used to smile and join in a lot of things, but now there is a sadness that hangs over you and I’m worried because it isn’t like you.” She sighed. “I’ve wanted to say that for a week now so I’m glad to finally get it out.”

He had no idea he’d changed so much, at least outwardly. Inwardly, he knew that he was different. He felt different, but then his heart was broken and wouldn’t be whole again.

“I had no idea it was so obvious,” he admitted. “I’m tired, Barbara, and after seeing my family over the holidays, some things came to light which prevents me from sleeping well. So I’m permanently tired, and don’t seem to find time to catch up during the day.”

Barbara studied him for a few minutes and he knew she was weighing his words, and then he saw the minute she believed him.

“Well now. I’m about to head home so I suggest you lock up behind me and go straight to bed. Stay there until tomorrow, or your stomach wakes you.” She smiled, and placed the cakes into a plastic container before covering them with the lid. “There now.” She grabbed her jacket from the back of the kitchen door, and waved to someone outside. “My ride is here. I’ll see you on Monday, and please, take better care of yourself, young man...Father.”

He watched her go and decided to do what she’d told him to do, which went to show just how tired he was.

So after he’d locked up, he dragged his tired body upstairs and stripped bare before climbing beneath the covers.

“Mmm,” he moaned and arched into the touch against his engorged flesh.

Goose bumps rose on his skin as her fingers tickled down his length, over his balls, and between his legs. Emelia rubbed and massaged, which drove his pleasure higher.

It had been so long—years—since he’d been touched; just a few more touches and he’d be releasing his seed all over his belly, but what she was doing felt so good that he never wanted her to stop.

Her fingers threaded through the hair of his groin as a growl built at the back of his throat and then...and then...he felt her tongue lap at the crown of his hardened dick seconds before he felt her mouth wrap around him with an unbearably wet, warm suction.

Every inch of his body was awash with pleasure, and he had no chance as his organ erupted like a volcano . . .

His eyes snapped open while his hips arched up before dropping back to the bed. He raised his head and watched while he could do nothing to stop the pleasure that spread all over his stomach and chest as he continued to spurt his seed everywhere. He panted and gripped the covering on the bed to prevent his hand from wrapping around himself.

Why now?

With one last kick, his flesh rested against his stomach while he dropped his head back to the pillow and tried to catch his breath.
