Walking back to Gabe, I sit back down on his lap and take his face between my hands, “Are you okay?”

“Babe, I have you in my arms, why wouldn’t I be?”

“Good answer.” I lean in and kiss him.

Hearing my Dad clear his throat, we pull apart grinning. “If you’re both interested, Travis told me he would pick you up in….” after looking at his watch, “….an hour to take you in town for the Christmas Eve dance, as you missed the one in town a few days ago.”

“Do you want to go Bree?” Gabe asks me.

“Why not? Let’s go out and celebrate.” Grinning I climb up off Gabe, “I’ll go and get ready.”

Glancing up the stairs on his way through to the kitchen Travis does a double take then starts laughing, “Hell sis, you can’t wear that.”

As I reach the bottom, with an innocent look on my face, “Why not?”

Travis starts laughing, “You’ll give poor Gabe a heart attack.”

I walk into the kitchen with Travis, “I’m ready.” I announce as I look at everyone; meeting Gabe’s eyes which are filled with love and as he looks me over, lust.

Travis starts heading for the back door, “I think we better go before Dad sends you back upstairs to change.” Then grinning, “Or Gabe does.” He says.

“She’s not changing.” Gabe says going over to help me on with my coat. “You look amazing, but aren’t your legs going to get cold?”

Laughing, “I thought you could keep them warm.” I say, making Gabe groan.

“See you later Mom, Dad.”

Helping me into Travis’s truck, I make sure Gabe gets one hell of a view as his eyes make contact with my rather naked butt. He chokes out a groan, “You’re going to freeze to death.”

“No I won’t. Like I said, I have you to keep me warm.”

“Fuck.”

As Travis drives us to the dance, I look out of the window having completely forgotten how lovely everywhere looks at night. The deep snow over the fields and gardens, but clear from paths and roads, the colorful decoration’s everyone has on display, all reminds me again how much I’ve missed not being here.

I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year, my first one with Gabe as my man and soon to be my husband. After the upset of the past three days, I just want to forget and look forward to the future with him.

Tonight’s Christmas Eve dance in town has taken place as long as I can remember. My Mom and Dad used to come here as a young couple.

Hopefully most people will remember that Gabe isn’t really my brother and not act stupidly seeing us together. There’s no way I’m staying away from him tonight just to appease everyone.

“Are you going to get out?” Looking around, I haven’t even realized we’ve arrived.

“Sure. I was lost in a world of my own with you in it.”

He gives me a wicked grin, “Was I wearing clothes?”

I laugh at Gabe’s comment as we hold hands walking towards the hall where the dance is taking place.

As he opens the door for me we come face to face with Tracy. “Hi Tracy, how are you?” I ask, trying to be friendly, even though I don’t really like her.

Tracy completely ignores me and looks at Gabe, “Hello Gabe. You want to dance?”

Squeezing tight to my hand, “Sorry Tracy, I have my woman here and I don’t think she’d like me dancing with other women.”

As she looks me up and down she says, “I don’t think she would mind. Would you? After all you’re only his sister.”
