The entity roars his name. "Lucifer."

Lucifer is as weak as he was when he was first exiled from the heavens. "Master, I have found the angels."

Beelzebub roars and shoots across the beach. I dive out of the way, but the force of impact throws me into the cliffs. My breath is knocked right out of me.

The tone of his voice is multi-timbral, operating all octaves at once. It sounds like every dead soul in the universe is speaking through him.

"Where is she?" he says. "Where is the angel who walked freely in my realm?"

Lucifer stutters. "I... I... I have killed her..."

I avert my eyes as hot spheres of fire form above the monolithic demon's palms. "You try to deceive me," he says.

"No, I would never," Lucifer promises.

"I feel her power. She roams this universe with the power granted by the council," the demon grunts and sends more fire toward.

"Impossible," Lucifer says.

I roll onto the sand, gasping for air. Loki and Heimdall run to my aid.

"You okay?" Heimdall asks.

Loki looks uneasy as he helps me onto my feet.

"Don't worry about me. Raven is on her way," I choke.

Loki shifts on the edge of his heels. "Look, man. I'm sorry. I should have stayed."

"It's okay," he says.

"It's not."

He kneels before me and presents a giant sword that arches like a crescent moon. In the center of the blade is a spinning, blue orb.

"The Laeveteinn," I whisper.

"Use it to destroy Beelzebub," he says.

I bow my head as he lowers the sword into my hands. Like the gemstone, the orb lights up with power. For the first time in my life, I feel worthy of wielding the energy of the gods.

"After we left, I went back to the blacksmith shop and found it on the anvil," Loki says. "I think it's a gift from my dad. In any case, he would have wanted you to wield it."

"I am honored," I say.

I stand and raise the blade in front of me. "May the gods watch over us," I whisper.

Loki and Heimdall grab their guns and grin.

"Are you ready to take on the world's sins?" Heimdall asks.

"I call dibs on shooting its head off," Loki says.

Beelzebub stands in our way to restoring justice in the world. He laughs and opens his palms. Without much effort, he shoots more spheres of fire into the air. They come down like great meteors, smashing into the center of the ocean.

The sea level jumps and slowly rises.

An army of demons falls from its limbs. They run toward us.
