I imagine what they’re thinking: Why would someone like me have a personal meeting with Rocco?

Well, that’s obvious. It’s because I’m special.

Once at the top floor, there’s no one left inside the elevator. The door opens, and I step out to a busy hallway.

At the end is Rocco’s room. His name is engraved into his door. I eye it and walk toward it.

When I’m just about to reach for the door handle, his secretary, some cute college girl, calls out to me with haste and a tinge of fear.

She screams, “Excuse me! You need an appointment to go in there. Stop!”

I ignore her and giggle.

Inside, Rocco is sitting at his desk, talking to one head of the company. It looks very serious, but he stops dead in his tracks to smile and wave.

I raise my eyebrows, and he coughs. Awkward…

“I tried to stop her, sir. I’m so, so, so sorry,” the secretary says, breathless.

“It’s fine, Susie. I was expecting her,” he says, climbing out of his leather throne. “I’m sorry I didn’t warn you sooner. Hey, Jack. We’ll talk later about the deal. Sound good?”

The man smiles and shakes Rocco’s hand. “Sounds fantastic, Rocco. I’ll be seeing you,” he says.

Both leave the room and Rocco rises only to push the door shut, locking it behind us.

“You came,” he says.

I always come.

I walk past him, toward the diamond’-shaped window. “You didn’t think I would?” I ask.

I watch the tiny cars and ant-like people move toward their next destinations. Everyone is so small from up here.

“I had my doubts,” he says, loosening his tie up a little. “But you made it. I’m thrilled.”

“I need you to tell your security not to tow my car. I parked in one of your spaces out front,” I say.

I place my hands across the cleaned glass, leaving my handprint.

“You are trouble,” he says.

He’s right. Sometimes, I think I put up a front because of how I grew up. Who I grew up with…

This business is cut-throat and f

ull of the worst types of men. I act tough. But deep down, I just don’t want to get hurt.

He’s still smiling though, so he’s still interested.

“You’re trouble, too,” I tell him. “In fact, I think you’re much worse than you let on. But that remains to be seen.”

He doesn’t ease my fears.

“So, should we go over some things?” he says, unbuttoning his shirt.

I walk up to him, pressing my hand across his perfectly constructed muscular chest. A surge of warmth and excitement rushes through my body, forcing me to shiver with lust.

I try to take a breath, but it’s hard to breathe when I’m this close to him.
