“We can change that when we get back, though,” I wink at them. “I fucking love you both—you know that, right?”

“Love you, too,” they call after me in unison as I scamper off to obey orders.

I don’t know what else they could possibly have in store for me—but I’m excited to find out.

Chapter 24

Kara

Chase, Eric, and I walk up the paved pathway to the mystery building. My stomach is in knots wondering what the two of them have planned for me.

We walk up to the doors, and each of them grabs a handle and pulls the door outward, letting me walk through to the main lobby of a grand entrance.

We’re greeted by a young, muscular male instructor with a badge displaying the name ‘Zac’.

“Welcome to Zenith Acrobatics!” he exclaims.

“Acrobatics?” I ask, my eyes wide, and confusion clearly painted on my face.

“Surprise,” says Eric. “We wanted to do something special with you. We know you’ve been working so fucking hard lately…”

“So we thought an aerial silks class might be a fun change of pace,” Chase adds.

“Oh, my god! Seriously?” I return. “I’ve always been so mesmerized by this stuff. Cirque du Soleil is like…Kara crack. I was always just so worried that with my weight, I wouldn’t be able to do it.”

“Well, that’s nothing to worry about anymore,” Eric replies.

“And with you coming into your strength at the pace you are, you’ll be a pro by the end of the day. I can tell,” Chase adds.

“Holy shit. I don’t even know what to say!” I shout. “Thank you! I love you!” I look at both of them and can see in their eyes just how happy they are.

“Well, let’s get started!” Zac says.

“Absolutely!” I exclaim.

We walk through the main lobby and a small hallway. We come to a large wooden door, propped open with a door stop that leads into a fucking huge open area, with several different aerial attractions, harnesses, and training gear.

“Okay. So some of this stuff is going to seem really intimidating at first, but I promise that you’ll have all the skills you need once I actually make you go up into the air with some real height,” Zac explains.

“Sounds great!” I return. I’m dying to get started. Especially to test this wild strength I’ve developed. It’s so fun thinking that all this muscle is good for more than just doing a perfect squat.

“Let me demonstrate just what I’d like to see you do today. I’ll go through it really quickly, but I promise you don’t need to be intimidated,” Zac says.

I reach into my bag and pull out a shake, Banana Slit. I take a couple of sips as I see Zac wrapping his body around once in the silks.

He quickly uses his upper body strength to climb the fabric. It all happens so quickly, but he whips his leg around and wraps more around his body.

He does amazing twirls and has beautiful hanging poses in between, all mesmerizing to watch. Then he suddenly lets all of the wrapping come undone as he twirls back down to the floor and plants his feet on the ground.

And with that, my excitement turns to sheer terror. What in the world am I getting into?

But I decide that there’s really no turning back and that I have to go through with it.

I can’t let my men down. They planned this for me. What kind of girl would I be if I didn’t at least try to go through the class?

“Are you ready to get started?” asks Zac. “We won’t be nearly as complicated at first. What’s your favorite color?”

“Pink,” I say, because, like, obviously, right?
