“Come when you’re ready.” She skips over to kiss my lips. “Rowan has much to discuss with you, I’m sure. He nearly came to verbal blows with the Spanish ambassador on Thursday.”
“You’re liking your job.” I catch her face and kiss her once more before she leaves me.
“I love it.” She smiles and runs her palm down my cheek. “Almost as much as I love you.”
Hearing those words from her will never stop making my life, I’m sure of it. “And I love you, Sass.”
She skips out the door, and I grab my phone. Only one thing would make her happier, and I shoot a text to her brother to be here in a half hour so he can go with me.
It’s funny how life turns around in the most unexpected way. A year ago, I wanted to resign. I’d been at the lowest point of my adult life. Coming off the Zelda job, I’d realized I had no one, and I had no prospects of finding anyone.
I came back here and everything changed. Our road is exciting and challenging and meets every need and desire I’ve ever had for love and life.
I can’t imagine it any other way.
