“Me too, baby. So damn happy.”
Tears begin to spill down my cheeks. “I have all I’ve ever wanted—you and our babies.”
He wipes them away with his thumb and tucks loose strands behind my ear. “This is a dream come true, Piper. Thank you. Thank you for loving me and making me a father.”
“You know, that day of the boat accident, I feared for our lives, thinking you’d been shot and killed, and I was going to drown to death. And look, now we’re starting a whole new chapter.” My emotions get the best of me while I finish my sentence.
“Yes, sweetheart. Forever and always.” He kisses me again. “God, I love you so damn much.”
I nod, laughing. “I’m blaming these happy tears of pregnancy hormones.”
He chuckles. “We have so much to look forward to and new things to experience together.”
“We do. And I can’t wait to share this with the world, but only when you’re ready to announce it.”
“I’ll let you make that decision. I trust you to make the right call.”
I sigh, but I can’t stop grinning. “Why are you so perfect?”
“Because I finally have what I’ve been missing all of my life—you.” Tristan bends down and lifts my shirt, then kisses my belly. “And you too, little ones.”
