Page 30 of Holiday Ever After

Taking a bite of my ham and cheese sandwich, I glance over at Liam, who’s looking back at me with the most beautiful, easy-going smile. “How’s your breakfast?” I ask.

“It’s lacking the egg part of the omelet,” he replies.

I take a bite of my food. “Well, that’s your fault.”

“My fault? You’re the one who jumped me and made me drop the bag.”

“Correct, but you’re the one who left me high and dry—which caused me to jump on you and take what I rightfully deserved. And speaking of lacking—owww.” I fake wince when he flicks my leg. “What’s up with your tree? You normally go all out for the holidays.” We glance at his pathetic excuse for a tree. “You have to admit, it’s pretty sad looking.”

Liam scratches his chin. “Dammit. It is, isn’t it?”

I take another bite. With a full mouth, I reply, “Like, bad.”

“Well, what do you say we fix that?” He doesn’t wait for my answer. I’m up in his arms, waving bye to my discarded breakfast and the sad tree as he carries me down the hall.

“What do you have in mind?” I ask, eager to know his plans.

“For starters, I’m going to shower. With you. But I plan on making you very dirty before I clean you up. Then we’re going out for a goddamn real Christmas tree.”

My eyes light up. “Sounds like an eventful day. I need to check my schedule. Hmm. . .” I trail off when his lips touch mine. He cups my ass and kicks open the bathroom door, never pulling his mouth from mine. I love the way we mold together. The comfort of his touch. The familiarity of his body against mine. This was always us. Liam and Holly. Inseparable.

There’s always been a powerful attraction between us. Years apart hasn’t changed that. I wrap my arms around his neck and press my chest closer to his. The way his heart beats against mine, the pulse in his neck as he fights for control—every vital part of Liam Cody ignites this ache inside me. To make up for lost time. To confess I’ve never stopped loving him. Not even for a second.

I sigh, parting my lips. My body shivers as our tongues collide in a sensual dance. Leaning forward, he rests me on top of the vanity, then turns on the shower. He doesn’t speak as he slowly removes my clothes, piece by piece. My mouth becomes dry at the sight of him as he starts to undress himself until each layer of clothing is removed. I gaze at my initials over his heart, stirring a flutter in my belly. My pulse races. I’m suddenly hyperaware of every part of his body.

Licking my lips, I say, “You know, on second thought, your tree is fine. There’s really no need to leave your place today.” Or ever… Liam chuckles, his lips curling into a cocky smile. He knows he’s a god. “Or not. We should really get that tree—”

“Enough talking, Holls.” He lifts me back up and steps into the steamy shower. I take a long breath as the hot water hits my back. He pushes me up against the tile, his erection resting at my sex. He stares down at me, peeling away every emotion stirring inside me. I rest my head against the tile, and he leans in, his teeth playfully grazing down my lobe. I sigh, opening my legs wider. He slowly grinds into me, and just the connection has me arching my back for more.

“We should probably hurry. Trees are flying off the shelves. Get this going.” My sex pulsates with overwhelming desire. I’m about to start full-on threatening him if he doesn’t—“Oh God,” I moan as he slides inside me, my eyes falling shut. I press my lips against his and arch my breasts into his chest. The gentle stroke of his tongue is like heaven. I shiver as he pulls out and plunges back in. We’re so close, so connected, that my mouth parts, so many confessions sitting on the tip of my tongue.

“Liam, Liam, Liam. . .” I say his name as I whimper and moan. My entire body tingles and my chest tightens. Tears fall from my eyes. I clutch Liam’s shoulders as my orgasm rips through me.

“Fuck,” Liam grunts, hitching my legs higher as he pumps into me, finding his own release.

I sag into the wall, hoping his arms don’t give out. I can’t feel my legs and will fall on my ass.

“Should I be worried that you’re crying?”

“Nope. Just wires crossing. Pretty sure you moved some stuff in there.”

He gazes down at me, watching. “For real. What? Do you want me to say it? Liam Cody, you’re so amazing at sex that you make girls cry. Like orgasmic cry.”

His chest rattles against mine. He shakes his head and runs his hands through my wet hair. “Then it’s a good thing it’s the holidays, and I’m in the giving spirit.”
