And I know I’m going to love her no matter what.

We dine on seafood together, sharing our plates and tasting the wine. The wine takes hold and my primal urges grow stronger as the night goes on. I haven’t once stopped wanting to grab her and fuck her, but I’ve kept my urges at bay even though the beast inside has been rattling his cage all night. I want her and I’m struggling to hold myself back. I wonder if she is too. I keep catching her looking at me with those sultry eyes, clearly in need of me as much as I am in need of her. We’re insatiable. It’s been less than twenty-four hours since we pleasured one another, and still, we’re unsatisfied. We need another shot of release, as often as we can get it.

And tonight, we’re going to take it to another level.

By the time we’re leaving the restaurant, I’m definitely a little light-headed, the alcohol taking hold of me. And it’s made it easier not to care about the looks we’re attracting. Elle clings to my arm, giggling a little. She’s in good spirits, and I know it’s perfect for what we have planned tonight. If she’s at ease, then we’re going to have the best time. My cock is throbbing now at the thought of what I plan to do when we get home. I want to grab her and rip her clothes from her body. I don’t care where we are, on the sofa, on the floor, or on my bed, I just want to touch her, to move deep inside her, to give in to the primal instincts that have surfaced ever since we met. I need her so badly that it’s a wonder I’ve made it this long. I could just pull her in an alleyway and have her right here and now but I want to make it special for her. I want it to be a night she’ll never forget for as long as she lives.

“I’ll get us a ride, let’s get you home, beautiful,” I growl, my hand wrapped around her thick waist. It feels good, holding her close like this, my fingers sinking into her side and gripping her tight. Her hip is against mine, her head lolling to rest on my shoulder while she smiles blissfully. The whole thing makes my stomach jolt. I’ve never done this with anyone before. It feels almost as intimate as what we did last night, standing together in the street, holding one another. It feels bold, and it feels right.

I order us a car and then wrap my arms protectively around Elle, keeping her warm and safe in my embrace. I haven’t forgotten the effect she has on men, anyone might try to hurt her the way Matt did last night. But I tell myself that it’s over. That idiot must at least have the sense not to try again.

And yet now, I’m on high alert, scanning the streets for danger. I won’t allow anyone to touch Elle, to threaten her. She’s mine now, and I have to make sure she’s always safe with me. I have to make sure that I don’t miss a thing.

That’s when I see him. On the other side of the street. Matt. He’s leaning against a wall, a beer in his hand. His face bruised from where I head butted him yesterday. And yet he still has the audacity to follow us, to try his luck again. I snarl in anger.

Now he’s really asking for it.

“What’s wrong?” Elle asks, picking up on the tension in my body as I hold her close. I unravel myself from her.

“Stay here. I have to take care of something,” I tell her and with that, I let her go and stalk across the street, adrenaline pumping. Matt discards his beer on the ground, already aware that I’m coming. He’s gearing up for a fight, but there’s no chance in hell he’s winning this. He might think he has the motive to try and win, but I’m never letting him near Elle again. Even if it means letting the animal inside me take over and do something I’d never dream of doing otherwise.

“I told you to stay away,” I growl as I face off with him.

He smirks.

“And I ignored you. Who are you, anyway? I’ve never seen you around until yesterday.”

“I’m the man that’s going to make you pay for what you’ve been doing,” I snarl. “And I’m the man who has what you want but she’s mine, Matt. My woman. So just back off, or you’ll regret it.”

“No,” Matt hisses. “She’s always been mine. You don’t get to just show up out of the blue and claim her. She doesn’t want you.”

“I think she’d say otherwise,” I say. “One last chance, man. Leave now and never come back or we’re going to have a real problem on our hands.”
