“That’s right, baby. That’s right.” He pushed his hips up, slamming harder and harder into me. “I’m going to come. I’m going to— Fuck!”

We climaxed together in glorious harmony.

Then my body went limp, and I collapsed on his chest.

“Amazing,” he whispered.

“More than amazing,” I replied.

We lay together for a moment, still joined, until I rolled off him and curled into the crook of his shoulder.

He tensed, as if ready to rise.

“Don’t,” I said. “Stay with me for a little while.”

“But I—”

“Please.”

“Okay.” He relented, tightening his arm around me.

I closed my eyes, inhaling the scent of our sex that hung in the air.

If this would be all I’d ever get of him, I was going to enjoy every single second.

Chapter Thirty–Two

Bryce

I opened my eyes to darkness.

Marjorie still slept beside me, cuddled in my arms. The sun had gone down, obviously. How long had I been here?

I kissed the top of her head and eased my arm out from under her.

I stood, found my jeans, and pulled out my phone.

Midnight? We’d been sleeping for hours. My mother hadn’t called or texted, so that was good news. No issues with her or Henry.

I eyed Marjorie’s still-sleeping body and shook my head.

I’d slept, and I’d slept well—better than I had since this whole thing with my father had come out. No nightmares, no night sweats, no insomnia.

Just sleep. Pure, basic, deep sleep.

And I’d needed it.

The sun had still been shining when we fell asleep, so the time must have been around five o’clock at the latest.

Seven hours of sleep!

Amazing.

My eyes adjusted to the dark room, and I stared at her. Still so beautiful and so innocent-looking in slumber.

Marjorie Steel was far from innocent. She’d made love like a pro. No mistaking her for a little girl anymore. Nope. No more pink and yellow unicorns. No more toddler trotting after Joe and me as teens.

Thank God.
