“We got burners,” the Shadow named Steel spoke up. “Once this job’s done, there isn’t gonna be anything left to tie us to this job.”

“That’s one thing we need to do yet, is grab a few burners. We don’t want our phones pingin’ our location on that mountain when we head up there,” Judge announced.

Mercy nodded. “Yeah, get that done. You don’t want anything tying this club to what’s going to happen on that mountain. You told us they’re a sovereign nation and they were stockpiling weapons, right?”

“Yeah. Buyin’ parts and building the guns themselves. Reloadin’ ammo, too,” Trip answered.

“Good. They already have a beef with the government. And since the feds came and cleaned them out, they’re going to be out for revenge,” the big man named Walker said. “We’re going to make it look like they were gearing up for a war against the government. Building and stockpiling more than just illegal handguns and long guns.”

“You told us they were sloppy with their weapons, their moonshine stills and their meth labs,” Ryder added. “That’ll make it easy to look like they were sloppy making homemade bombs, too.”

“Explosives are fucking dangerous and should only be handled by professionals,” Mercy finished dryly.

“And when you don’t know what the fuck you’re doing… Kaboom,” Brick said with a sly grin.

“You got enough explosives to flatten that place to the ground?” Dutch asked to Whip’s right. The old man was standing just on the other side of Easy.

“Don’t you worry about that shit,” Mercy answered. “That’s our job.”

“What the fuck! Of course, we’re gonna be worried,” Dutch growled. “Need to know if you’re worth the fuckin’ scratch we’re payin’ you.”

“Worth every fucking dime,” Steel reassured him with a smirk. “Best pest control operation out there.”

The Shirleys certainly fit the description of pests.

“Right now the plan is,” Mercy explained to Trip, “we’re heading up there tonight to do some recon and, once we get the lay of the land, we’ll start setting the explosives. This won’t be done all in one night. In fact, it’s going to take a few. We have to be cautious, not only with the handling of the material, but with not being spotted. From the map and photos you provided, looks like a pretty big compound with buildings scattered throughout the woods and clearings. That right?”

“Yeah, that’s right,” Trip answered. “You need any of us to go with you?”

Mercy stared at him. “Any of you got experience with explosives? Slade said you were a Marine.”

“Yeah, we served together, but I ain’t got that kinda experience.”

Mercy gave a single nod. “Yeah, figured. Then no, we don’t need help for this part. My team will go up later, do our thing and see how much we get done. You got alibis set up for the night of?”

“Yeah,” Judge spoke up, tugging on his beard. “One of our brothers got a birthday comin’ up. Good excuse to gather for a party at our bar in town. It’s open to the public, so we’ll have eyes on us other than our own.”

Birthday? Party? What the fuck was Judge talking about? Jesus fuck, was the sergeant at arms talking about Whip’s birthday? If so, that would mean Fallon would want to be there.

He was damn sure he didn’t want Fallon anywhere near this whole plan. Or being a part of the “alibi.” She wanted to hang around to celebrate his birthday, so if she got wind of this party…

“Don’t all arrive at the same time,” Mercy continued. “Once you’re done up there clearin’ out the women and children, don’t walk in as one group. Trickle into the bar. Different times, different directions.”

Judge nodded in agreement.

“What are you doing with the women and children?” the Shadow named Brick asked.

“Had a long discussion over that,” Trip started. “We got a plan.”

“Wanna share it?” Ryder asked next.

Trip yanked his ball cap off and ran his fingers through his hair. “Figure once you get all the explosives into place, we’re gonna go up and gather the women and their spawn. We already stole a set of keys to one of their vans. Gonna load them all up, and two of our prospects will take them to Ohio to drop them off with another branch of the Guardians.”

Mercy scowled. “Not expecting blowback from that?”

“It could, but we’re gonna make sure it don’t,” Trip assured him, slapping his cap back on his head.

“The only way to ensure that is to dispatch them all,” Brick informed the Fury prez.

Mercy quickly followed with, “Yeah, well, we don’t want any part in taking out women and children. Not unless it’s in self-defense. Even then we try to disable and not kill.”

“Understood,” the Fury prez said. “We got a plan set. Scar and Castle know what they need to do and how to do it but, if needed, all of us are gonna be gatherin’ the women and children.”
