The front door opened and his husband strode in. “Finish it?” Cort asked as he set his satchel on the counter and walked to where Grey was leaning.

The former Soul Weaver and once-again full-time author nodded, his attention firmly on his husband. “Finally. We should go out somewhere for dinner. Just you and me.”

“Sounds good. Just let me grab a shower first. Lots of spills today.”

Cort still worked as a vision rehabilitation specialist, and he’d been dealing with several clients today. His khaki pants had a dark streak across the knee and his blue button-down held a few stains.

“A shower sounds…fun.”

Cort chuckled and leaned in for a kiss. “If you get in that shower with me, we won’t be going anywhere.”

“True.” He sipped his whiskey and looked his gorgeous husband over. Grey loved his long, lean form and his beautiful brown eyes. Cort was everything he could ever want, wrapped in a very handsome package. But the best part about him was his heart. He was warm and kind and every day, he made Grey’s life brighter. “I love you.”

Cort’s eyebrows went up as he stared at Grey in question. “I love you, too. What brought that on?”

“Just feeling lucky.”

“You got that ‘finished a book’ high, don’t you?” Cort grinned and came in close again. “The last time you finished a book, we didn’t leave the bed for two days. Now I wish I didn’t have to work tomorrow.”

“But it’s Friday tomorrow, and the weekend’s coming up. What if we take a little trip?” He set his drink down and wrapped his hand around Cort’s hip to pull him closer. “A little getaway? Maybe to the beach?”

“Are you thinking of that bed-and-breakfast we went to last time? Because my memories of that place are excellent.” Cort stroked one hand over Grey’s chest. “We didn’t see much of the beach, though.”

“I liked the view in our bedroom better.” Grey nuzzled into Cort’s neck and breathed him deep. He didn’t care if Cort came home messy from his job, just liked having his hands on him. He smelled like coffee, so he imagined that was what had been spilled on him. Still, he pulled him in even closer and felt the bulge of Cort’s hardening dick against him. “I think I will take that shower with you.”

“I’m obviously interested.” Cort chuckled and pressed his lips to Grey’s.

Grey opened his mouth and let his husband in, groaning as Cort slid his tongue into his mouth. They kissed leisurely, merely enjoying each other and Grey marveled over how much lust he still felt for Cort. It was never-ending and all-encompassing. He could happily drown in Cort’s embrace and did so often.

Desire built, and he turned, pressing Cort into the wall to deepen the kiss. That long body felt so good against his, he pushed closer, sliding one thigh between Cort’s.

When he finally pulled back for air, Cort’s grin sent butterflies into his stomach. It was naughty and crooked with lust. “I no longer care if we ever leave this apartment.” He reached between them and gripped Grey’s erection in his palm. “Let’s get in that tiny shower and take care of this bad boy.”

Grey thrust his hips into that hand. “I’m still taking you away for the weekend. I’ve earned a vacation, and my memories of that bed-and-breakfast are excellent.”

Cort’s expression softened. “We don’t need that place to make memories. We do that every day, just you and me. But I’ve got a few sick days built up and I can take Monday and Tuesday off. We’ll make it a four-day weekend.” He grinned again and he was so gorgeous, he took Grey’s breath away. “Maybe see a little more of the beach this time.”

Grey started unbuttoning his shirt. “I still say the view in the bedroom will be better.” He spread his shirt open and ran his hand over that smooth, brown skin. He dipped down and took a nipple into his mouth.

His husband sucked in a deep breath, then chuckled as his hands threaded into Grey’s hair. “I do love your ‘finished the book’ highs.”

Lucien

Lucien stepped into the center of the open space and threw his arms out wide to gesture toward the beautiful exposed redbrick walls, the black iron support beams and struts that rose up around them, and the magnificent two-story windows that looked out onto West Congress Street. They were just a hop, skip, and a jump from Ellis Square and City Market. It was the perfect location for tourists and locals, getting amazingly high foot traffic no matter the season.

“What do you think?” Lucien demanded of his two mates.

“It’s a little big, don’t you think?” Gio replied, scratching his jaw.

“And old,” Calder added. He rubbed a finger across his lips as he turned to the windows. “I thought you’d want something more modern.”
