He whips his head around and those sexy brown eyes narrow on me. “This is not it,” he says in a fierce tone. “We’re not done. We’ll never be done, Mia. I meant every word I said last night. You’re my girl. You’ll be my girl forever.”

I run my hand through my hair, hoping he’s not playing me. I really don’t think he is, but there have been craftier men who have been more than willing to rip hearts out of girls’ chests to get into their pants.

I take a deep breath and remember who I’m with. That’s not Cyrus… That’s not us.

“I’m going to stay with you the entire time,” he says as he sits on the bed and takes my hand. “I’m not leaving you alone out there in the wilderness. I’ll be by your side.”

“Thank you,” I say as I reach out for a hug.

He comes into my arms and I moan as I feel his warm body against mine.

If we want to get a move on, then this was a mistake.

The hug lasts about three seconds before I feel his weight shifting on me as his lips begin to explore my body once again.

“We can still make it on time if we take our breakfast to go,” I say as I wrap my legs around him.

He grinds his hard cock against my aching pussy and grins.

“I like the way you think.”

“This is a nice place to stop for lunch,” Cyrus says when we come across a clearing next to the river. It’s a different river. It’s nice and calm, unlike the river from hell that tried to kill me yesterday.

We spent most of the morning hiking uphill and we’re finally on flat ground. It took me about four seconds to fall down from the height of the waterfall and about four hours to hike back up it. My feet are killing in these crappy shoes, but at least I get to have a break.

It’s beautiful here. There’s an amazing view.

And it’s not just the river. Cyrus is looking sinfully hot in a pair of shorts, a loose white shirt, and an old Yankees cap on backward.

I still can’t believe he’s my boyfriend. This giant of a man. He’s all mine.

“What are you grinning at?” he asks with a smile as he puts down the large bag he’s been carrying.

“Nothing,” I say innocently. “Just enjoying the view.”

He looks at the river, completely clueless, and nods his head. “It is spectacular out here.”

“Yes, it is,” I mutter under my breath as I watch his jacked shoulders while he puts his hands on his hips.

We start taking our lunch out of the bag and spreading it out on the blanket he brought.

“I knew you were perfect for me,” I say when he pulls out a wine bottle from the bag.

“I didn’t bring glasses,” he says. “We’re going to have to drink from the bottle.”

“Wow, you really are perfect for me,” I say with a grin before I take a long swig of the delicious wine.

He laughs and then takes the bottle from me, letting his hand linger against mine for a few seconds before lifting it to his mouth and taking a sip.

“Want to go cool off?”

“Where?”

“In the river,” he says with a laugh.

“Last time I was in a river, it hurtled me over a waterfall.”

“This one barely has a current,” he says as he puts down the wine and peels off his shirt. Wow. I’ll never get tired of that.

“Yeah, what does it have, though? Piranhas? Leeches? Sharks?”

“Sharks?” he says as he looks at me over his shoulder.

I shrug. “You never know.”

“I know. It’s safe.”

I give him a skeptical look.

“Would I ever put you in danger?”

I can’t see that ever happening. “No.”

“Then, come on in. No bathing suit required out here.”

I gulp as he slips off his shoes and then pulls his shorts and underwear down. My heart starts pounding as I watch him walk into the water.

“See any sharks swimming around?”

“Not yet,” he says as he drops down to his neck and turns around. “Come join me. The water is perfect.”

“For you, maybe. You’re a mountain man who loves cold water. I’m a city girl who requires it to be as warm as a bath before I get in.”

“You won’t regret it,” he says with a raise of his eyebrows.

I take a deep breath as I look around the forest.

Yesterday, I had enough cold water to last a lifetime, but I don’t know how much time I’ll have with Cyrus like this. I have to take advantage of every moment. And if everything goes as planned, I’ll have to learn to live in the wilderness if I ever expect him to live in the city. There’s going to have to be some give and take in this relationship. I’ll have to exit my comfort zone at times. I can do it. For him, I will do it.
