“The hell I am,” I laugh. “You really are delusional.”

“Yours?” Ghost asks.

“Mine. She’s going to be on my bike, wear my name, and if she wants that shit, my ring on her finger. Got me?”

“Whoa, hold up. Don’t you think this is something you should be talking over with me, Train?” I ask, my heart beating crazily.

“We’ll talk about it tonight after you tell Mickey you quit.”

“I’m not quitting.”

“Is everything okay in here? Your alarm was going off,” Millie says, coming in.

“He pulled some of the leads loose,” I tell her. She’s my favorite nurse here. She always does her best to make sure G is comfortable.

“We can’t have that,” she says, giving my brother a smile. “Let’s get you cleaned up, and then we’ll put new leads on you.”

“I could use a shower,” G says, looking Millie over. It makes me grin. Millie rocks that nursing outfit, and it’s clear my brother has noticed.

“You can’t shower yet, Mr. Hudson. I’m sorry. But I could clean you off if you want.”

“You?” he says, and I giggle. Boy, is he interested.

“Well, I could get you a male nurse if you’d rather. I understand that some—”

“No man is going to wash my dick,” he says, sounding adamant. I want to laugh, and without thought, I find I’m burying my face into Train’s jacket to stifle the noise. It’s a mistake because the minute I do, his arms go around me, and damn it… it feels good.

“Uh…okay,” she answers, obviously nervous.

“We’ll see you this evening, Ghost.”

“Later, and Train?”

“Yeah?”

“You keep your dick away from my sister.”

“Oh, God,” I moan, not looking at Millie.

“Not going to happen, brother,” Train says as we go out of the hospital room. I ignore the fact Ride and Brambles are with us and look at Train.

“We are not having sex, Train.”

“I know, Drew,” he says, stopping to look down at me. My breath catches in my chest because his face looks tender and sweet. He reaches down and moves his thumb next to my mouth, brushing up and down over the small scar above my dimple.

“You do?”

“Yeah, baby.”

“Oh,” I respond. I’m not sure if I should be relieved or upset, but I think I’m definitely upset.

“When we get together, it will be making love.”

My chest goes tight, my heart turning somersaults. I know I should say something, but I can’t. I can only accept his kiss and melt into his arms.

Chapter 15

Train

“You need to get that look off your face,” Drew mutters.

“What look is that?” I grin as I get her door opened and step inside. I lock it once she’s in. Nothing looks out of place, but I still motion for her to stay still while I go through the rest of the apartment. A quick survey of her kitchen, bedroom, and bath reveals nothing bad, so I turn to join her in the living room, but she’s standing there looking at me. “You don’t know how to stay put do you, Drew?”

“Maybe it’s because I’m not a dog,” she grumbles, and I work hard to hide my smile from her.

“Tell me, how you can be sexy as hell and cute at the same time, Drew?”

“Stop it. You cannot just announce that I’m going to wear your ring and expect me to be okay, Train.”

“I didn’t announce you were going to wear my ring. I announced you were going to be my old lady. I said if you wanted a ring, you’d have that, too. I don’t really care either way.”

“Well, gee. That’s a romantic proposal if ever I heard one.”

“I try,” I respond with a grin.

“I don’t want to get married.”

“That’s fine.”

“I don’t want to be your old lady, either,” she snaps.

I study her. I’m pretty good at reading people, and my gut is telling me that Drew is just plain scared. She’ll hug me one minute and deny there’s anything between us the next. Ride gave me a report on everything Ghost had on this Lenny asshole. She has reason for being that way, but I need to make it clear that she can trust me—that she’s safe with me.

“You’re lying, baby.”

“I’m not. We can’t be together, Train,” she responds, and now she’s sounding panicked.

“Why?” I ask calmly.

“Well, for one, I don’t even know your name!”

“Train.”

“No offense, but I’d rather forget all about how you got that name, even if you got it while you were young. I sure as hell don’t want to use it if we are in bed together,” she mumbles, and I chuckle, shaking my head.

“There’s no if we are in bed together, Drew. There’s only when.”

“That remains to be seen,” she argues stubbornly.

“My name is Cletus.”

“You’re lying. I know men and you are not a Cletus,” she says, her eyes wide. I smirk. “Jerk,” she laughs, slapping my chest playfully.

“It’s Jack.”

“Jack? Really?”
