“We’ll protect you and take things slow,” Memphis told her.

“Four,” she heard someone say and then looked at Stryker, who had yet to fully enter the room. Although she didn’t know him like she knew the others, she understood that they were a team that shared everything, and that would include her. like Cassidy to come along and become part of us,” Cash said to his brother.
“I can’t,” Stryker said, and she heard the emotion in his voice.

His eyes widened, and he opened his mouth, but no words came out. It was as though he’d realized it would be a waste of breath to deny the feelings he was having. He stepped closer.
“Cassidy, you deserve perfection.”
She shook her head. “God knows I’m not perfect, Stryker, but I know what I feel. I’m scared to have sex with five men, soldiers I hardly know but feel closer to than any other people on this earth. It’s a risk I’m taking. I’m trying not to think about the trouble and the fears that will still be in my life even after we make love together. I want to feel more of what you all make me feel. Stryker dropped the cane and walked toward her. Coast stepped out of the way, and Stryker stared at her body then held her gaze.
“You look like an angel,” he whispered to her. He placed his hand on her waist and stared down into her eyes. “I can’t make love to you. Not yet.”
She felt her chest tighten. “Why not?” she asked.
He reached up and teetered slightly as he pressed closer and cupped her cheeks.
“Because I haven’t even kissed you yet.” He lowered his mouth to hers and kissed her softly, sweetly, as if savoring her taste and the feel of her lips. It was erotic, sensual, and she gripped his sides and ran her hands up his waist and ribs as he deepened the kiss.
